I think Teach inherited his “special body” from Rocks. And that its basically a property of the Davy clan.
I say this because Rocks must have had something that made him so dangerous. He had advanced haki, but so did Roger. Why did Roger then need Garp’s help to face him?
We saw that Rocks was fighting on par with Harald, who is an ancient giant.
That is tbh crazy, because giants typically should outmatch a human in strength. Sure, a human could best a giant due to haki or DF power. But strength? That’s where giants excel. And yet Rocks clashed on par with Harald.
Rocks was basically a haki master like Shanks/Roger, but with the strength, endurance, and durability of yami-less Teach. Basically an ancient giant with the body of a man.

Man Rocks is the realest one, he gave up his dream and died for his family, top tier character. This chapter is fundamental to understand Dragon, now we know why he never met Luffy, “ a child is their parent weak spot”. Dragon saved Shanks who saved Luffy, can’t wait to see Dragon move in the present

Lowkey We should’ve known OP would turn into this , In 2006, Oda dropped dropped Luffys whole bloodline and the setup with Sanjis family from the Duval Photo. This concept of characters being related to other strong characters is not new to the series.
From what sengoku said they team up to beat the rocks pirates not rocks on some 2 on 1 the big question is why .
Still at this point the sengoku leave out so much info with the HK being there and a elder and Kuma and Ivan etc etc.
That things for certain will be differnt that what he said .
There no reason for them to fight if roger go there to save shakky and he go there to save his famliy so something had happen on the island.
Oda does let some women be evil, Loki’s mom is one of the most despicable characters in a good while but she just died of the typical unspecified illness that plagues mom characters in flashbacks.
As for Vinsmoke Judge and Sora’s relationship, I think Oda could be implying that Judge wasn’t always evil and was a decent person back when he first met his wife. Sanji’s bad future shows he turns out exactly like Judge which could hint at Judge’s younger self being similar to Sanji before going down a dark path.
