I've seen a lot of Garp slander lately on Reddit and here too. But I noticed some people on Reddit would say shit "Koby won't be a slaver live him!!"
And then it hit me, like a thousand Applejack impacts. The true purpose of SWORD isn't the good marines like people cope about. They haven't done shit besides Koby. X Drakes the damn leader of the "good" marines and he didn't give a quarter of a fuck about the two years of non stop suffering in Wano while undercover.
And as a supposed black ops until that attacks yonko and their crews they don't do that shit without Garp. The fact that Grus and whip mommy Kujaku only went after Bege when he quit the BM pirates is proof.
SWORD exists for Koby to have the nearly perfect way out of Celestial dragon control. Between his low rank, low popularity compared to Garp, and SWORD, he can ignore any superior order regarding CDs. And there's no way in hell CDs give a crap about him unlike Garp.
