Right?! Given he saved her life and set her free too, you would have thought that would have had a more significant and thus permanent effect on her? I certainly would never forget that at least! She didn't even realise Zoro resembled Ushimaru and I thought this would be a plot point with Zoro's lineage/past as we learned in SBS-kun too and with Onimaru/Gyukimaru.
I forgot about him planning her to be a sworsdwoman/samurai! Wasn't one of her original concepts the same as what Oda used for one of the retainers with Ushimaru too? One of the Daimyos with him or w/e? I wish he made her a bit more muscular too...hehehe.
Right? With Brook as a 1 sword user and Zoro the 3 sword user and Ushimaru being a 2 sword user, you see where I'm going with this too? Yamato as the 2 sword user would have been perfect for the crew! Who else used 2 swords? OH YEAH ODEN LMAO! Sigh....thank you Oda.....
Having all 3 as sword fighters on the crew would have been SO PEAK! And as you said brilliantly too, she has ice themed powers like Brook ofc! Even better! Imagine the gag of Sanji simping for Yamato and she being too much of an innocent and strong tomboy for him, but also innocently obliging him and Brook on their perverse ideas , without even thinking about it? God knows Oda would do that and LOVE to make it a recurring gag ofc!
But at the same time, there's hilarious gag potential of Sanji simping for her but she would surely fawn over Zoro and even want to spar with him and get strong with training with him. Even more especially, if she realised his connections to Ushimaru too.
On the other hand too, maybe Yamato would be more like Nami and clobber Sanji for being such a perv or Nami would "gently encourage" her to do it, but Sanji would probably enjoy it tbf (I couldn't blame him either). In a way, she could have been like another Kuina for Zoro currently too.
The SHs desperately need another female SH character and a strong one at that too ideally, Rocks had 3 strong women in his crew so it would be really nice if the SHs got at least 1 more to parallel that.
King teaching Yamato would have worked too and been really cool. Her and Jack are the same age and Kaido sees Jack as the ideal son effectively, he is very massively fond of him, probably because he's so fearless, loyal, obedient and such, he truly risks himself for Kaido and devotes himself to him so a Yamato vs Jack fight would have been so amazing thematically in that regard.
I really like seeing Page One and Ulti with her atm as her "scabbards", thats really sweet. I hope she gets the other Beast Pirates at least, the ones yet to reappear I mean. I can see Black Maria and Sasaki potentially going with her, not sure about Jack though tbf. Assuming they're alive but I believe they are.
Kaido had some amazingly designed characters with potential/implications to be very compelling, fun, memorable characters but Oda didn't give them enough chance, enough shine. I loved the gag of the "this is how dinosaurs hunted" and such with Jack and King and also Sasaki becoming a tricerocopter or w/e it was called. That was hilarious lol.
Kaido legit has an amazing crew but so does Big Mom too. Crocodile, Doffy, Kaido and Big Mom all have some really interesting crew members, along with Rocks too naturally ofc.
