@MonsterKaido your opinion on this?

The weirdest thing about Kaido, and a part I think really ties him together, is his alcoholism. I know it’s a Shonen manga so ideas like his suicidality and alcoholism can’t become too crushing, but it paints a picture of a really empty, broken man who’s only pound of pride was his strength. He always wanted to be the kind of leaders he saw around him and heard in legend… joyboy, Rocks, Rodger, Whitebeard, even Big Mom, but in the end he knew his only redeeming quality was his strength. Hence needing to start a global war to “prove” himself. I think this all comes together when we learn just how much he wanted to be Joyboy… and that deep down he knew he wasn’t. In a way he’s Oda’s darkest, most internally broken character, but we never got that flashback that tied all these ideas together into a single picture because Oda was in a rush to finish Wano and had already given us everything we needed to put to together ourselves.

The new Bond game actually looking promising so far. I didn't like the BA but once he said the iconic "Bond. James Bond" line I grinned. I grinned even happier hearing the classic theme song in the trailer too.

Given its made by the Hitman devs, it should be fantastic tbf but I'm scared they're gonna force always online DRM like with Hitman. I'm certain they will in fact.

Sadly gotta wait till March but but it will make a damn nice early birthday present at least!

Funnily enough, Whitebeard and thus Blackbeard have an attack like this too:

Tenchi Meido (天地鳴動, Tenchi Meidō?, literally meaning "Heaven and Earth Rumbling"): Whitebeard grabs the air and pulls it downwards; once he gets low enough, all of his opponents are tossed into the air and fall back down. This was first used in One Piece: Pirate Warriors 2.[31] It is one of Whitebeard's special moves and requires two special gauges to perform. It is similar in execution to Shima Yurashi but does not tilt the earth itself. It is also used by Blackbeard, who needs only one special gauge to perform the attack. In the game's English release, the technique is called Heaven and Earth.
The sea and island tiling move too:

Shima Yurashi (島揺らし, Shima Yurashi?, literally meaning "Island Shaking"): Whitebeard "grabs" an entire area, by grabbing and pulling on the air around him as if it were tangible, and rapidly shifts it. Using this, he tilted the entire island of Marineford and the sea around it, destroying buildings and throwing a giant off of his feet in the process.[7] This technique is called The Man Who Shakes the World in One Piece: Burning Blood.

Rock’s Swordsmanship in the official translation says something about creating shockwaves from his sword strikes that would blow everything away in the vicinity. Instead of Blackbeard being a swordsman, he went after the fruit that could create that effect x1000. Genius.
Reaching? Thoughts?

So, I've finally realize what Oda's doing with Kaido/Linlin.

I thought for a while Oda would use God Valley to finish exploring their characters, but, even though Kaido and Linlin have gotten love here, it hasn't been anywhere near what Shakky/Rocks have gotten.

But, if you look at Kaido/Linlin, we're missing the same parts of their lives: their early childhoods, and their crewbuilding years.

We'll get Kaido/Linlin's flashback next time we see them. Oda's saving their childhoods/crewbuilding eras for a dual flashback between them.

I still think Kaido's suicide attempts were a result of Ace dying, and Kaido believing Ace was Joy Boy.

Oden-era Kaido didn't really seem suicidal/alcoholic.

There's a chance Oden's death is what triggered it, too, but, IDK, I think Kaido was waiting for Joy Boy, and had given up on life until he fought Luffy and realized Luffy was Joy Boy.

One Piece will be on the Jump Cover and will have a Color Spread in Chapter 1161 next week (WSJ Issue #44)
Ch 161 is about Alabasta's green city Erumaru. Some fans have suggested that this is all that remains of the legendary Emerald City, spoken of in Jaya.

Maybe next chapter we get someone on God Valley mention the three cities of gold and/or something more about Laugh Tale.

I always felt Kaido came off as somehow remorseful when he said this to line to Luffy. Some kind of bitter regret?

Food for thought too:

There's far too much Oda needs to reveal about Big Mom and Kaido, to explain about them so I refuse to believe he's done with them, especially when he's made characters cheat death many times now and also brought back characters from early OP into new and even bigger roles in the story.

Worst case scenario, Oda changed a lot of his plans for them and or scrapped a ton of ideas and this is all we're getting but I strongly disagree with that possibility, I don't believe in that at all. Same for Kidd, Law, Urouge, Weevil, Lunarians in general, Carrot, Yamato and whoever else.

I just hope what we've gotten isn't really the be all and end all for them, it truly would be ireedeemable writing.

Freaking dope art. Davy looking like a badass here, I actually really like his design now especially. I hope t his is actually what he looks like lol.

Much of the in-story legend around Davy Jones is taken directly from real-life nautical folklore, which has used "Davy Jones' Locker" as a euphemism for sailors (and other goods) lost at sea since at least the eighteenth century; the Davy Jones in question is said to have been a captain so greedy in life that the Devil personally condemned him to spending eternity on the sea floor, collecting riches he could never use.[4]

Nami, Captain John, Pizarro etc upscale?

I can't fucking wait for Elbaph animated and to see Xebec, Harald, Loki etc. I hope the art style will be a lot better and the animation not so headache inducing, but we'll see. I really don't like the direction Toei has gone in for Egghead especially, ergh.

"Turn the world upside down" could also could be a Bible reference because

Acts 17:6

“And when they found them not, they drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying, These that have turned the world upside down are come hither also;”

.

Also Sabo says hell is at the top of the world so it could have something to do with that

Yeah personally I like clean animation like Gear 4 in Stampede, not the wavey type of animation where it's like things aren't very solid

Ooooh thats an excellent spot dude, I like that a lot. I'm sure we're gonna see the ocean being split like Moses did too. Maybe the Red Line will symbolise that as it gets inevitably split in half at least in future? I feel this would happen with Buggy somehow?

I bounced some ideas on AI about who could be Moses in OP too:

Based on your excellent suggestion, here is an updated analysis of who could split the ocean like Moses, with a focus on Admiral Fujitora.

Fujitora: The "Moral Moses"

Admiral Fujitora is an excellent candidate for this feat, perhaps even the most thematically fitting one. His Gravity-Gravity Fruit (Zushi Zushi no Mi) gives him direct control over a fundamental force of nature. He could theoretically use an immense, upward gravitational pull to manipulate the mass of the sea, creating a massive chasm through it.

What makes him stand out is not just his power, but his character. He is a deeply moral individual who has already demonstrated a willingness to act on his convictions, even against the direct orders of the World Government. He sees the world in terms of justice, not blind obedience. This was most famously shown when he deliberately let slaves escape Mariejois during the Reverie, standing as a silent protector for the oppressed. This action is a powerful parallel to Moses, who chose to help his people despite his privileged upbringing.

Other Strong Candidates

Shanks

Shanks is an exceptional choice due to his god-tier Haki. While not a Devil Fruit user, his Haki is said to be on a level no one else can match. He could potentially impose his will on the sea itself, using a massive burst of Conqueror's Haki to push the water back. Alternatively, a sword slash imbued with his overwhelming Haki could cleave the ocean itself.

Buggy

Buggy's potential for this feat lies in his Devil Fruit Awakening. As a Paramecia user, an awakened Buggy could apply his Chop-Chop Fruit power to his surroundings, literally "chopping" the sea to create a path. This would be a comedic, yet powerful, fulfillment of his unexpected rise to greatness.

The Ancient Weapons

The Ancient Weapons are said to hold world-shattering power.

Poseidon, the mermaid princess Shirahoshi, can command the Sea Kings. She could simply order the massive sea beasts to part the water, creating a passage.

Pluton, the ancient battleship, could use its immense destructive power to blast a path through the ocean.

Other Mentions

Kuzan can use his Ice-Ice Fruit to freeze the sea, creating a solid path to walk on. While not a split, it serves the same purpose of allowing people to cross.

Luffy as the new Joy Boy and wielder of the Sun God Nika fruit could, with his power of "freedom" and "ridiculousness," perform such a legendary feat.

Its so weird Impel Down was built to go downwards underwater, a tower like that would be going towards the sky instead ofc, so if the world was literally turned upside down and "Domi Reversi'd" (hence all the evil and despair in the world too), that would make a lot of sense!

Yeah personally I like clean animation like Gear 4 in Stampede, not the wavey type of animation where it's like things aren't very solid
Aye, I really love how the art style and animation of the movies looked, from Strong World to Red at least, as those are the only ones I've seen lmao. Including Film Z and Stampede I mean.

Clean animation is so much better, pre TS animation is pretty choppy and has not aged well but at the same time, like the manga art, its simplicity is its beauty too and makes you appreciate it more and makes it far easier to see whats going on and follow it.

The new type of animation Toei is doing is far too fluid as you were saying, the waviness of it and it's too much like those tryhard animations on youtube and such, with the extreme camera movement and angles/perspectives. It's way too flashy and fast, like it was made by people who only care aboutt thrill seeking and spectacle. Pre TS anime had so much heart, impact (in attacks landing and such too), soul, charm and humble beauty, sincerity to it. I find the post TS anime, well from Wano at least extremely pretentious at times and thus far too self inulgent, way too much peacocking, just like Odas writing of Gear 5 itself and the forced gags and far too exaggerated clownfoolery of it all.

I should be careful to criticise the series anymore though, I don't want to get insulted more by certain other people and told I'm living a "sad life" SMH.
