Alright I’m not even trolling. Hear me out.

What is the first situation that Oda gives us real information about Burn Scar during?

It is when the Blackbeard Pirates are talking with ex-Admiral Kuzan in a bar.

When literally conversing with an ex Admiral covered in Burn Scars, we learn about Burn Scar. Foreshadowing?

Shiryu even mentions the possibility of Burn Scar being affiliated with the World Government:

So if Burn Scar is an ex-Admiral…then yes, this checks.

It is said that Admiral Jiaga “succumbed to his injuries” against Xebec. What injuries exactly? Well it’s unclear, but then we learn that Burn Scar is literally a man with a Burn Scar:

So we have Admiral Jiaga said to have died to his wounds by Xebec, and Burn Scar who is literally identified by his signature wound.

So what if Xebec like, caused some kind of explosion, and Admiral Jiaga was engulfed by flames, presumed to have died, but somehow survived?

My investigation took me back to chapter 1155, and wouldn’t you know it:

The Holy Land was up in flames during Jiaga’s mysterious “death.”

Now, I’m sure Harald being on fire isn’t literally connected to Jiaga’s death, but could this be Oda's way of foreshadowing some kind of connection between this Reverie incident and Burn Scar? Perhaps that Burn Scar was literally at this Reverie?

Now what else do we know about Burn Scar? Well, we know that he seemingly possesses an incredibly powerful Devil Fruit:

Perhaps one could even say…an Admiral level Devil Fruit?

The Admiral Devil Fruits are heavily associated with elements of nature such as magma, light, ice, gravity, and forests with Sengoku being the only real exception to that rule. Wouldn’t the long prophesied Water fruit fit right into that trend?

We also know that Burn Scar seems to be very powerful, it seems like no one (including the Yonko) have been able to approach him to take the Fourth Road Poneglyph. How did Burn Scar become so powerful? Well, perhaps he was a former Admiral.

There’s one last point I’d like to make. Oda seems to be laying a trail of bread crumbs before revealing Burn Scar to us. First teasing his existence in Wano, then revealing a bit more to us in Egghead…what if Oda is continuing to foreshadow Burn Scar right now in Elbaph and we just don’t realize it yet?

Now, I know some of you are thinking: why? Why would Burn Scar be doing any of the things he is currently doing? Why “fake” his death against Rocks, why hide the Fourth Road Poneglyph, why do any of this. And while I of course don’t have every answer, I will offer some speculation myself:

I initially posed this as a troll comment in the spoiler thread, but I actually think it could make sense: what if Xebec, as a member of the Davy Clan, doesn’t want any D. Clan members to rise and reach the level of the Pirate King? Admiral Jiaga, as a Marine and a Government man, would have that in common and wouldn’t want to see the rise of a Pirate King. So what if Xebec and Burn Scar colluded to fake his death, so that Burn Scar could safely and secretly abandon his position as Admiral and take the Fourth Road Poneglyph while arousing zero parties of interest and zero visibility?

There would be no worldwide report about Burn Scar leaving the Navy like there was with Aokiji, there wouldn’t be any chance of his name or story spreading around the world because everyone would think he was dead. It’s the perfect cover right?

Anyway I don’t have all the answers but I think I like the idea the more I think about it.

What do you all think?

Whirpool ability? How does that not completely check out with Gaban's weapons/fighting style? That's exactly what I would expect Gaban to be able to create at sea with his axes....we already saw an attack that can likely do it
That’s like saying Sanji can create whirl pools because of his eyebrows lmfao, At no point has Oda suggested this.

Gaban’s attack doesn’t even look like spirals anyway.

And what is Gaban doing? Attacking the waves as he sails away lmfao? Get serious, this is clearly a Devil Fruit or some other type of ability.

I mean, it could be Gaban, but it would also be kind of weird. Like, why just give one RP to one guy in the crew? Why not make it clear when Gaban has been in the story for awhile at this point anyway.

I think the man marked by flames being someone working for the government would make more sense imo

I’m just picturing Gaban standing on the stern of retreating ship and slamming axe attacks into the waves lmfao. It’s just such an impossibly lame image.

If Gaban was Burn Scar then Saint Shanks would have the 4th Road Poneglyph by now and there would be no reason for Burn Scar to exist in concept.

Honestly one of the first things I think of when I see a dual axe wielding character is him having a spinning axe move.

I like the idea.
At this point, it cannot be some new character I think. It should be someone we have at least heard of.

As of now Gaban doesn't match (at all, I might say) with the burn scar man set of powers. Not to mention why he should randomly sail in a black ship taking the RPG (?) with him.

But more than anything, because It would be so fucking lame. What would be the point of having a lost/hidden RPG plot if the mugi were still going to stumble on it as they did with the other three whitout even trying?

Then just keep It on fishman Island and be done with It. And it's fucking time they have to actually put effort into getting one.

It's a great theory Lee. The only thing holding me back from going all in on this is the fact that Oda deliberately gave Gaban a flame shaped scar. Perhaps this is just simple misdirection?

Gaban did tell Luffy to meet him before leaving the island after the battle for the key, which I thought may have been about the final ponyglyph. Plus, I don't know if Oda really has time to do a whole battle for the final ponyglyph after Elbaf. Kinda makes sense to slide it in at the end of this arc, but I don't know.

I thought maybe the black ship could be Roger's ship burnt black. Because we know how strong adam wood is.

This is a cool idea!

To be perfectly frank I do think parts of it are a bit farfetched, like for eg it's hard to imagine anyone having a water fruit due to how busted that would be.

But if Oda ends up doing this it would be pretty neat. Always thought that the Admiral's death was a setup for something personally.
