I don’t think it’s a coincidence that God Valley is called the Valley of the Gods.
It was probably home to divine beings like Nika, who I believe is a true god the original demon.
The original demon was fought by the original Nika, in the first world. Now, it’s possible that both Joyboy and the Davy D. clan are descendants of the original Nika.
I believe that both Joyboy and Davy Jones were born in, or at least founded families in, God Valley.
In the second world, we then see the appearance of Imu, who grants the power of the devils to the Gorosei and other subordinates through his grimoire.
Nika and his army are defeated, and we know that Jones promised Imu they would return one day.
Now, in the third world, Roger and Rocks represent anomalies. Roger finds the One Piece, but he arrives too early, while Rocks wanted to fulfill the promise made by his ancestor, Davy D. Jones. All the Davy D. are located in God Valley the Land of the Gods and there we also find Shanks’ mother and Shamrock, whose face is obscured.
Shamrock’s appearance is important and connects to the One Piece; I really believe we’ll see a panel paralleling Joyboy. Think about it I believe Shanks and Shamrock are the descendants of Joyboy, just as Teach is the descendant of Jones.
The phrase “they will surely meet again” refers to Shanks and Teach, who, like Joyboy and Jones, are destined to meet.
Born on the island of God Valley, destined to clash and it’s no coincidence that Shanks is called the “Child of Destiny.” I believe Roger told him the time when he would have to find the Nika fruit, but here, Shanks chooses to challenge fate and bet on Luffy, who in this case is not a true “chosen one” like Shanks was.
Shanks decides to believe in Luffy because he repeats Roger’s words Luffy and Roger are the heirs to Joyboy’s will, but while Roger decided to follow the path destiny showed him when he reached Laugh Tale, Shanks, though the true biological heir, chose to bet on Luffy instead.
There will still be a battle between Teach and Shanks, but the one who will truly move forward is Luffy.
Now, I also believe that the Devil Fruits are either powers derived from the original Nika which would explain why Luffy can use fire and similar abilities or, just as Imu draws power from devils through a grimoire and grants it to others, the fruits are simply devils of a lower hierarchy compared to the original demon.
That demon, I believe, will be the entity behind Imu. I see Imu more as a warlock than a true “demon,” someone who made a pact with that original demon the same one that was probably sealed away by Nika during the first world.
