All things considered this chapter looks pretty solid. Shows you how much this means to Oda that he gave a chapters worth of pure fighting for a flashback. We didn't get shit all for Oden vs Kaidou.

Kaido vs Oden was awful.
It looked like two high tiers fought each other.
For a flashback battle, Garp/Roger vs Xebec might be Oda best work lol.

Have we ever gotten a detailed flashback fight like this? Granted this one had off screens too but we got far more than other backstory battles. My memory is lacking

there is the thing with Brogy’s arm, but he didn’t really regenerate that. It’s still severed, he can just use it somehow.

No he's visibly more fucked up by the end. He has the same level of blood/bruises as Roger and Garp, if not worse.

what you seem to be misconstruing is the idea that WSS is similar to WSM. Like the titles work the exact same way. WSS is about 1v1 combat between swordsmen. WSM is about destructive capability of the Gura Gura. That’s why Whitebeard was WSM at the same time as Roger was pirate king. Whitebeard never defeated Roger yet he was WSM
