Powers & Abilities “Haki mass” is a set up for G6

Since Wano, G5 has basically become Luffy’s new base form in top tier fights. Whereas G4 was reserved as a final trump card against high tiers in dressrosa and WCI, G5 has basically become a go-to form.

Basically Luffy needs a new trump card, specifically against Imu’s forces. Gaban said they weren’t invincible and you need to pay special attention to how you use CoC. But how?

The answer seems more clear with the GV flashback. You have this concept of critical haki mass, basically focusing your haki in a single move to bypass your opponent’s defenses.

This is more than likely the key to beating powerful regen users like the gorosei or Imu who not only have regen but powerful haki as well.

G4 was based around overusing CoA for a temporary buff. G6 might work the same way but with CoC.

We saw how CoC can be used to shield against attacks. Maxing this power and stacking it with G5 rubber would probably make Luffy near invulnerable. Likewise a punch with the full weight of Luffy’s haki might legitimately be more dangerous than BG, as we saw how such moves from Garp ripped Rocks to shreds.

In the fight against Imu, I think Loki will inevitably get DR’d, pitting Luffy against an enemy that could very well be comparable or stronger than domi Rocks.

Gaining full control over his haki mass and using CoC in a manner similar to how CoA is used in G5 is likely the key to beating Domi Loki.

What Roger and garp did was that they used all their haki in one big attack. It's a pretty risky move which most fighters won't do as they will exhaust their haki completely.

G6 is coming that I agree. As for haki we have already seen stronger version from joyboy who split the sky on his own.

Luffy's haki will 1-2 tier above dodger and shanks in EOS.

He hasn't even mastered G5. Since that's the peak of his df powers (straight out of his own mouth) he is left with mastering that form and then refining his haki through battle.
I don’t think that discounts Luffy getting a new haki based form, similar to G4. As that isn’t simply DF mastery but DF + Haki.

Basically a more powerful version of what Luffy does in G4 imo

Luffy kills DR Loki after he kills Usopp

"Noooo, Usopp, Loki-kun!"

Imu laughs triumphantly. "What will you do now, Nika?"

"You'll pay for this, Imu! My Joyboy blood is boiling mad! Gear six, re-mass!"

Luffy gear 4 is literally the ability of Haki mass.

Unlike doing it one attack, Luffy trade in more time with high AP for a while.

After gear 4 he is rendered useless for a while.

Luffy was already coating himself with CoC in g5 as stated by Kaido. He doesn’t do it all the time but it is not visually distinct if he does.

"Haki mass" isn't a unique ability...
Yeah but Luffy could probably combine it with Nika powers in a unique way.

Ex.

infinitum explosion seems to have some sort of flame effect on Garp’s fist. Luffy can create flames using Nika powers, as seen in red Hawk, red roc, and his ability to create fire while running.

G6 could combine the two effects for highly explosive punches.

You also have Rocks’s CoC shielding which could be combined with G5’s added elasticity for invulnerability to physical attacks.

Yeah but it’s not like G4 where he’s using so much haki he’s at risk of running out.

This is possible, but if it happens, it won't be a new gear.

4 means "death" in Japanese. Gear 5 is thus something like "rebirth", "resurrection"... in keeping with Luffy being a Jesus-like figure. Remember, he unlocked Gear 5 by dying and then being revived by his fruit.

Gear 5 is his ultimate gear... any new stuff will be merely further evolution of Gear 5, not an entirely new gear.

Any more Gears would be overkill.

Though I could see him have a situational power up like Afro Luffy, Nightmare Luffy, Water Luffy etc
And before tht he needs to fix Gear 4's draw back.
