Character Discussion Sanji's I would never hurt a woman is stupid and he deserves to be made fun of for it

I remember in some video games (Jump Force and Burning Blood iirc) the players were complaining that Sanji had been designed to literally not fight back against female characters.

And yeah in story it's really silly sometimes.

Like at least BFR them or give them the superhero treatment where you K.O them instead of killing them.

He tried that with Khalifa and she didn't buy it. :suresure: Sanji can't intimidate women for shit.

Yes, but he should be able to. I suppose it won't be in character, since he won't have true harmful intent like Zoro.

But even Sanji vs Kalifa is something we miss from post timeskip Sanji (along with mr prince which is completely absent as well).

He could at least put up a fight and defend himself, even if he holds back a lot. Sanji vs Kalifa is something we can at least imagine happening to a super chivalrous dude.
Compare that to his current self, this dude would immediately roll over. Loda went way overboard, SHs are caricatures rather than real characters post TS.

It's just not in Sanji to treat women indelicately, even when defending himself.

He'll literally die before kicking a woman because of who raise him. It's a matter of code he inherited from the man his actual father.

The problem is the power scaling got too big. At this point Sanji physically cannot defend himself without collaterally damaging a woman as he himself stated in Wano.

Didn't have a problem with it until Enies Lobby, then it became pathetic.

It was more important to him to stick to his principles than save a friend's life.

In all fairness he is not the only strawhat that does this. However, he is the only one that does it in relation to something so petty and unrelated to his ambitions. That's why I can (sort of) forgive him for not wanting to use his knives in combat or the raid suit even though he would clearly be more effective with them, but not slapping a ho that needs to go down has made him a liability on multiple occasions.

Luffy set aside his pride and ran TF away from Big Mom and Kizaru to not risk the lives of his crew. Zoro got down on his knees and sucked begged Mihawk to train him for his crew. That's called character growth and sacrifice. Usopp would probably be the closest after the shit he pulled with the Going Merry but his stubbornness was for a much deeper reason and even he eventually swallowed his pride.

Lanji got none of that.

Did people not read WCI where oda stated that to Sanji kicking a woman is tantamount to killing Zeff? Or the SBS where Oda said “Sanji doesn’t have a policy about hurting women, the truth is that he physically CAN’T kick them.”

Sanji didn’t make a conscious choice not to kick Kalifla and was actively angry at himself for being unable to. But this all goes back to the theme of EL about the Straw Hats all making up for what the others can’t do.

People clowning on Sanji is nothing new people have been clowning on him since the Enies Lobby arc due to his refusal to hit Khalifa and his pathetic "I don't care if it kills me I will never hit a woman"

Honestly so pathetic

You know what makes this even worst? The entire plot of the arc was saving Robin so what if they failed to save her and Robin died due to Sanji's refusal to hit females would he be fine knowing his friend died because he couldn't bring himself to break his own chivalry?
No. The problem with Sanji was never his refusal to hit women, it was his refusal to ask for help, mostly because he didn't think he was worthy of it. Sanji relied on his faith of the SH in Enies Lobby but it could have gotten wrong, which is why this refusal was depicted as a weakness. Now Whole Cake happened. While Sanji can't hit women and it's GOOD, he is less insecure and will ask for help.

I mean the refusal to hit women under any circumstance is a weird thing though. Makes it seem like he believes all women are just inherently weaker than men and should be treated far softer than them
