Character Discussion Thoughts on Silver Axe?

He was first mentioned by Sengoku, had his own intro panel, and was hyped up as Shiki's rival.

So with God Valley now over, and with the flashback focusing on Harald and Elbaf again, what are your overall thoughts on Silver Axe?

Definition of wasted potential.

- Only good interaction is a funny moment with Shiki
- Zero personality outside of hating Shiki and betraying Rocks
- Did not show us Urouge's fruit in more detail
- Was not the double agent, was not a Marine
- Didn't fight Gaban
- Got kicked and didn't kick back
- Dipped like a fraud, didn't even leave rich like Shiki did

Did we even see his axe? Was it a Supreme Grade Axe? Was it even silver? I bet it isn't. I bet this fraud secretly paints his weapon like everyone accuses Mihawk of doing.

His only chance of redemption is if he somehow turns out to be relevant e.g the man with the burn scar.

He should've stayed as that cool silver armor from Thriller Bark. Much more interesting than Mr. Big Fodder Chin.

Silver Ass was such a compelling, nuanced character with a really cool fighting style and ability.

It was thrilling to see his intense bloody rivalry with Golden Lion Shiki, honestly Oda really outdid himself here. Somehow he almost stole the spotlight from Xebec himself.

Watching him rampage against the holy knights, beheading them with his unrivalled Zephyr axe style that would go on to inspire Scopper was breathtaking.

I fear Oda has peaked as a writer here and will never match these standards again.

Tbh there’s no good reason why Oda couldn’t give Silver Axe and Captain John tiny panels this chapter like he gave Shiki and Ochoku.

Idk, he isn't even a convincing Shiki's rival since Oda would rather give Ochoku a panel about the pirates who conquered the NW.
Honestly,I believe he just wanted to draw Shiki having funny interactions with another character but it wouldn't have worked with someone like WB so he created some mickey mouse rival.
