Chapter Discussion Officially confirmed: Pirate King = Grand Tourist King

It’s like you didn‘t read what I said, WB gets a slightly favorable portrayal. There is still no gap, he might win after losing all his limbs. WB himself thinks very highly of Oden and Kaido, he glazed the hell out of them and ducked Kaido. For him, it’s a coin flip.
He also avoided fighting the Marines, and Teach avoided fighting Old Ray even though he could win
At the end of the day all this doesn't matter. Whitebeard is the one that's constantly seen as the strongest Emperor as evident by everyone calling him the WSM and the WSP and also the king of the sea after Roger's execution.

Totally different scenarios lol. Whitebeard was characterized as a man who would never let that slide, and he did ruminate on avenging Oden for years. He just knows that there is no guarantee that they’d even win, and a whole lot of them might die.

Because it'd be dumb to lose so many of his sons for one dude who's already dead. It's not like he won't slide against an overwhelmingly strong army since he literally did just that in Marineford.

It was obvious, at least during Roger's era, he didn't fight and didn't need to use his strength for any of his road poneglyphs while Luffy has done so for 2/3 and his equal pirate rival had no intention on becoming PK while Shikki lost because of the weather (although he admits inferiority to Roger).
