People spam nonsense like Roger and Shiki are equal because Shiki was Roger's rival for a short period of time
Well Oda literally states that Roger, Rocks, and Garp are old-school legends and rivals, but no one is saying they are equal

We see that Big Mom runs away from Garp who is equal to Roger, but on Rocks Island they talk to Roger and even want to have a drink.
This means that unlike Garp, Roger did not want to capture them and even had a more friendly relationship with them.
And the Yonkos never had a physical fight with each other. It was more a fight about lands like what happened between Shanks and bartolomeo.
And the most fights between the Yonkos were with Shanks who drank wine with Whitebeard and had a very small fight with Kaido and it is unlikely that he has even seen Big Mom in these 6 years.

And also people underestimate the status of Yonko. Look at Buggy to become Yonko, he needed someone who was more skilled than Shanks and even considered himself a rival to Shanks. It is clearly shown that Yonko is the highest rank before PK. Anyone who wants to become PK automatically has to go through this stage before him.

But Roger and Whitebeard are always hyped as individuals who are above all the other pirates (besides Shiki).
All this cope about Big Mom and Kaido secretly being direct rivals and equals to Roger and Whitebeard when the characters themselves say that isn't the truth is insane. Big Mom went out of her way to put Whitebeard on a pedestal (even compared to Kaido who she's canonically relative to in strength) when talking about the people she could have crushed if she allied with the warriors of Elbaf, and Kaido was so salty about Whitebeard being above him that he was going to try and bumrush him at Marineford if not for Saint Shanks. That's not much different from Shiki being salty that he couldn't beat Roger in the Edd War and then desperately tried to find him and fight him at Marineford before he was executed.

My post is about the current chapter stating that "one crew" stands above the rest.
The chapter didn't state Roger was above other top tiers.

I never underestimated the status of Yonko. Yonko is clearly about both individual power and influence. The govt believes Buggy has enough strength to subdue or have Mihawk under his control

But becoming PK was never about strength, only about finding treasure. Fame and wealth, not power which is directly tied to yonko

Roger never defeated any prime Yonko in battle. Stalemated Primebeard, Gram Polo Jr and rookie Oden with 3 prime top tiers in his crew, sneaked around to avoid fighting Prime BM and Streusen inside her turf

Best he did was prob beat young rookie Kaido who often let himself be captured by Marines for free food and if parallels are any indication, he prob pulled up with his entire crew to gang up on a young rookie like Saint Red hair Pirates did in MF

According to this chapter Kaido hit his prime a decade before he fought oden. He just didn’t look super impressive because you’re comparing him to Whitebeard and Roger.
