Why wouldn´t someone from the east blue like Bellemere know about them though? Yeah basically, the entire meme of One Piece is found family. Shanks will obviously be closer to his father figure(Roger) then Garling, and Shanks´s brother is really just Buggy.
We already had this with Sabo, Sanji etc.

@Shiroyru Have you changed your mind on this since the flashback? Imo, it´s pretty hard to justify that people wouldn´t know about the HK when Oda can barely make Imcel a secret. Garling was doing missions in GV, asking the people to join the WG, the Hk were pretty openly willing to fight the pirates at GV, and even a commoner like Harald was sort of in the position to join the group, which would have to be public eventually. I think this is just a case like Haki, the SHP might not know, but pretty much everyone else in verse does.

Yeah, but there´s a difference between people seeing Imcel and the Goroseis true forms in this huge flashback of the top characters of the verse, and just what everyday people would end up seeing. It´s been mentioned that Saturn hasn´t been on the surface world for a while, but the HK aren´t like that. They´re pretty regularly doing missions, hunting people down, recruiting etc.

It was more like this extremely important group was literally never mentioned by anyone or had any hint of existing prior to that so they had to be kept a secret otherwise that does not make sense

As you can see, all the individuals that know the Knight of God exist have very precise reasons/roles that justify their knolwledge.
