Shanks is Oda’s golden boy and it’s entirely possible we never SEE a single thing Shanks did for the WG. But are we supposed to think he NEVER DID?

Shanks was doing missions for the WG for over a year and he never did a single bad thing ever?

I don't think we'll see him commit anything questionable on panel, at most it'll be alluded to via dialogue.

But, if someone presses Oda about it in the SBS, I expect him to pull a Hot Fuzz.

He probably killed or enslaved a fair amount of people, but if it was to ensure the Nika fruit got in the right hands, honestly I'd say it's justified.
The lives of a few tens to hundreds of people is worth it if it helps you save the world later down the line.

The man was raised by pirates and had his own crew, there’s no way that they would let him join the holy knights without some sort of proof of his loyalty. So yes, realistically he did something bad.

Shanks was with them for at least 5 years, see the "20 years ago" page where he appeared the page before (=even earlier) and the "15 years ago" page where he helps fisher Fisher Tiger.

We can be sure as hell that he did plenty of shady stuff. That likely includes an assault against the WBPs where Garling scarred WB and Teach injured Shanks. Maybe territory fights in the NW.

Also probably beating down early revos, ironically working directly against his savior Dragon.

He was already a pirate. Harald was defeating pirates Maybe shanks was doing the same. Pirates are also for the most parts the bad guys unless otherwise portrayed. Like Law is a virtuous character by one piece standard but he has defeated a killed a lot of pirates. Rocky port incident he stole I think 100 hearts from pirates.

Well for once we know for sure Garling clashed with Cowardbeard and HK Shanks clashed with Teach.

We also know for sure that Dragon was concerned about the HKs being mobilized.

We also know they're sent to places they want to bring into WG control.

Like, did they actively track him down like Judge has with Sanji after learning he‘s a wanted criminal? Could have been another case of an Only Alive poster tbh.

He stepped on Big Daddy Saran’s toes during Fisher Tigers raid. Saran was there to rescue the slave huzz and wife them.

its pretty obvious he has to do a lot of bad stuff to keep the act up. it happens in every "undercover" story.
