Character Discussion Did Shanks never do a single bad thing as A God’s steel?

No? He didn't have the chance of saving the world by doing that lmao. That's the entire point.
Shanks being a HK for a little while helped him get valuable info on the Nika fruit which ultimately led to him actually finding it and taking it before the World Government could secure it, which saved their world from what would be a very dark reality.

Huh ? Akainu potentially stopped an information leak that could throw the world into chaos which is arguably worse than the Nika DF falling into the hands of the WG.

So instead of throwing around your speculations while excusing hundreds dying, you should read the story how it is presented to us which is not black and white.

You'd have a point if it wasn't incredibly obvious that Shanks had a fair amount of knowledge on the Nika fruit and what the WG was up to. That's the reason why he was being pressured into becoming the PK.
Roger said that they were too early as Shirahoshi wasn't born yet, thus they tried to make Shanks the new Roger but in an era where they DID have Shirahoshi's help. Luffy just got in the way of that by eating the fruit.
