Casual or hardcore?

I don't think casual fans appreciate hardcore fans of One Piece much because hardcore fans get absolutely nuts about the story. They tend to be obsessive and hypercritical. It makes the fandom feel uncomfortable to be part of. What kind of fans do you think are here more?

Being obsessive can make people lose perspective because they get narrowed focus and a rigid/inflexible view of reality often. That's not something I have to be concerned about with casual fans. Discussions are more open and less about comparing these realities.

Why should either type of fans concern themselves with the other?
The casual only reads the story when they come around to it, then dip to enjoy some other content. They don't come into contact with the hardcore fanbase, as they rarely frequent forums outside of the surface discussions upon the release of a chapter.

The hardcore obsess over the story weekly, sometimes even daily. They know more than the casual does or can, getting deeper into the minutiae of the story. Even comparing the wealth of knowledge alone, the casual can't come near the hardcore, so there's no debate between them other than personal preferences in terms of characters of plot points.

If the casual enjoys One Piece on a casual basis, that's their mode of consuming the story.
If the hardcore enjoys dissecting One Piece to its very atoms, that's their mode of consuming the story.
They're two separate worlds.

So basically fans vs fanboys... Yea, fuck tthe fanboys who think everything Oda comes up with is genius and great (aka gear 5 and etc).
Maybe?

I'm just not sure casual fans even think about that.
- In fact, I'm sure they don't. They have no idea what drama hardcore fans get upset about.
