Speculations One Piece or Meme Piece?

Do you think memes and agendas have caused people's perceptions about the story to be distorted?

My position is memes and agendas have a significant role in distorting public perception of events and stories. This occurs through a combination of social media dynamics, psychological effects, and strategic communication efforts that often prioritize engagement and emotional response over factual depth and nuance.

I feel like after being exposed to memes and agendas for a while, you actually start to believe them. This causes people to operate without a shared understanding of facts or logic and they will begin to rely on personal beliefs, feelings, biases, or assumptions instead of verifiable data, leading to misunderstandings, conflict, poor decisions, and difficulty agreeing on reality because everyone's "truth" becomes subjective, making the act of collaboration and problem-solving nearly impossible.

Yes, greatly.

It's not just memes either. Lots of fans in fandoms will often spread and believe in popular headcanons, misinterpretations, oversimplifications etc.

(Tbh I guess memes can encompass those things though)

In OP for example you've got the whole 3 Admirals = 1 Yonko nonsense which came from people misunderstanding how world balance works.

Aside from OP this happens in lots of fandoms in my experience, and it also happens in other sites than this forum.

Reddit especially is prone to this as the upvote/downvote system encourages such popular stuff to remain relevant regardless of how correct it is.

Indeed.

Agenda, while making the weekly pace of One Piece after almost 30 years more entertaining, distorts the vision of a good majority of the readers. The core of the cause is that agenda completely removes the context in which things happen.
I could list countless examples...

In my opinion it's fun if dosed but it inevitably ruins the enjoyment of the story if it gets out of hand. I personally rarely fell in this trap, but looking around I see most of the communuty is deep down in this hole.

I believe that memes can often represent masked aggression, hypercriticism, and obsessiveness themselves, and in much crueler ways than normal criticism bypassing critical analysis and enabling the harmful rhetoric we see circulating the community like a cancer. It shall be noted that while memes seem harmless, they only seem this way because they pretend it's just a joke when accused of being serious.

I don't like your appeal to authority with suggesting Oda wants you to replace the content of his story with your own narrative in memes.

Just keep your head straight and enjoy the memes. I am a big Sanji fan, and I am sometimes very frustrated with Oda's writing and overdoing Sanji gags. Yet I still like the character and even made a Dogji meme myself, because it felt like a fun thing to do. And even though Sanji is my fav, I don't join the power scaling threads b/c I believe he's ever so slightly behind Zoro in terms of power, because this is what Oda intended for him. I don't expect Sanji to fight Imu and win. I know he won't fight BB. So I am stress-free from Agenda Piece and all those memes make the wait for the next chapter less boring.

The only people liking your posts are the least likeable people on this website. You are acting innocent, but each of you has anger issues, and you're all very obsessive people. Your fun isn't good fun as I've discussed about the nature of it.

You lack critical thinking skills and are an abusive group of individuals, the odds are that you're very poorly educated, and your opinions only thrive in a place like this because it's an echo chamber for the mentally unwell.

Your understanding of the story is warped and you lack social skills because the more you've been an internet addict on this website, the more your social skills have actually deteriorated. None of you are able to function irl.

This not only distorts your understanding of the story, but it also reflects your inability to function in normal society. What this really comes down to is the fact that only internet addicts like memes and internet addicts are known to have such issues. You're crazy.

Memes are anger-driven. They come from angry internet addicts with no life.

Why are you writing your diary here?

These people are just angry losers who don't fit in with real life situations.

Meme Piece is anger driven, it's pathological. At this point, you crazy obsessive people are fixated on me personally rather than the subject itself.

I don't like internet addicts with obsessive issues directing their anger and obsessive nonsense toward me, and I think it's why this community is looked down on by other communities who don't share your cult-like mentality here.

People who got high amounts of likes here were the ones most engaged in that anger driven behavior. This website has only served to rot your brains.

I really wanna see you engage in an IRL conversation.
