Definitely Luffy's case

Zoro in Wano was fine, Zoro and Sanji can't overshadow Luffy (in an arc Luffy is an active part) as a whole, maybe in some aspects but now completely, so ZKK was a failure since the beginning.

Sanji's year was also fine because imo that wasn't meant to be a literal year of Sanji getting strength feats and shit, it was meant to set whole new standards for Sanji's character arc, everything that happened there is gonna follow and be relevant for Sanji till EoS, from new powers, to plot relevance and his relationship with characters, Luffy included of course.

Meanwhile Luffy's badassery is over

I used to go nuts seeing Luffy fight, but now its just goofyness and laughing shit, people pretend it has always been like that but they are lying to themselves, Luffy was cool because Oda the perfect balance between it being goofy and being badass/edgy

Zoro fans put all their stocks on Gaban being an irrelevant filler character (for the threat he represented to them) only to find out Gaban has future sight, advCoC, and is Rayleigh's near equal, heck he even got a Roger comparison tossed in.

I guess the difference is those were the 9/11s of both fandoms, but Sanji's was a slow burn that kept on growing since the beginning of pre skip. I would say Sanji crying outside a 16 year old's bedroom and getting no fight in "The Year of Sanji" as he played damsel in distress was his 9/11 equivalent.

Atleast Zoro's character wasn't completely destroyed like Sanji's and Luffy's was, he just doesn't have a character at this point. The saddest thing is he's a chicken wing for life. That shit was the beginning of the end, a character with no character, the least he could do is not be stuck being peers with a cook who doesn't train, his strength is literally all he has. So while Sanji and Luffy's characters are actively trash, there is no reason for me to give two fucks about Zoro in 2025. He actually even doomed Rayleigh, that's how potent chicken wings are.

Gear 5 is terrible because it removes tension from Luffy fights.

Vs Crocodile and Lucci (pre skip) were some id the best fights because of the emotional tension involved. Currently whenever Luffy fights it feels like he fighting just because it's fun to fight.

Oda made the king of the pirates nothing but a swordsman

Shanks is one thing
He had every right to give roger anything else
He didnt

Then even worse he made someone even stronger than roger rocks
Hyped for his swordsmanship and sword slashes
And made his rival harald a swordsman too

Made rogers strongest attack cut

Gave both roger and rocks zoro poses for their attacks.

And now is following suit with shanks.

No amount of gaban will stretch to the level oda has given swordsmen.

This flashback was the best thing that ever happened to sword agenda
