What fruit does Loki have?

Hang on, wouldn't Shanks have had HK regen back then? That would help.

You know, it's kinda funny, this discussion.

Because in the story, Loki is the privileged one with super genes and 2 DFs while Shanks is the underdog.

But because of the way Oda writes hakimen, we see Loki as the underdog and Shanks as advantaged.

It reminds me of Kengan Omega (manga from which the Mihawk funny face meme originated).

There are many genetic freaks like a man with 52x muscle density and a roid monster who's his equal.

But the author keeps emphasizing skill to the point where these superheavies seem like the true underdogs....because the so-called in-story "underdogs" have license to do any bullshit in the name of skill.

And this makes them so narratively OP they might as well be the gifted privileged ones.
He wouldn’t have regeneration because he never became an actual Holy Knight, only God’s Steel which don’t have access to regen

You know it’s hilarious because I was thinking the exact same thing

Wakatsuki is a scrub, Julius is a scrub, all of these guys that are touted as monsters from birth almost never actually reach the pinnacle (even with training)

A regular ass old dude who’s honed his craft works all of them (Kuroki) and while I think that’s cool it’s like… so what’s the point in highlighting how crazy they are from a genetics standpoint if none of them stand among the best

That’s exactly how it feels in One Piece. Loki has a legendary devil fruit + a legendary mythical zoan hammer while also being an ancient giant but it means nothing

He lost to a human the size of his pinky with 1 arm, a sword, and some haki

I’m really hoping he either lost on purpose or got jumped

Or even if he lost (which is fine) at least imply that it was an incredibly tough fight

Cause someone with a bag as deep as Loki losing badly because of “muh haki” is just so silly to me

Hopefully with added context it makes more sense

I co-sign the theory that Loki either lost to trickery or he let himself get captured
I’m hoping it was Ragnir rebelling

I mean shanks obviously> mihawk.

I thought all the people that were pushing for mihawk > shanks was for jokes?

Narrstively it makes no sense
You can say Mihawk’s treatment when he actually shows up is poor

I don’t think anyone besides Mihawk (Zoro) stans would deny that

But narratively it wouldn’t make sense for Shanks to be stronger than the WSS

Unless you think Shanks fights with a haki wand instead of a sword

I agree with your overall point, that said...

Scrub is a rather major exaggeration lol. Waka and Julius were top tiers in KAT, arguably KvP and even now I'd argue that Waka's showing against Omori indicates that he should be up there with the RCT four.

I'd also say that KAT handled it well. Kuroki had a lot of luck with his opponents, and Waka was stomping Ohma before getting Plotsbaned. Hell, I'd argue that liver kick should have won him the match.

I legit feel like Waka at least would have had some chance of beating Kuroki and Kanoh in KAT at least in theory, and Rolon did hype him and Julius to Kanoh's level in KvP.

But yes, in Omega Kuroki, Ohma, Shen etc really make even top superheavies seem like jobbers.....to say nothing of Gozo, Toa, Haruo etc who really aren't on that level.

Toa is I think a very good example of this. Busted skillset and physicals, gets bitched on in all his fights.

Another is Nitoku, body of Melos and he got...you know what, I don't want to talk about it.
:josad:

Hopefully Oda does not fumble this.

Ooh, my bad. Forgot that. I didn't really go over those contracts much.
