Powers & Abilities Can you spot the difference b/w Shanks wizard mastery vs Zoro's swordsmanship

It doesn't really matter. Rocks shockwave style was called sword skill.
I used to think Shockwave coc weren't sword skill as well, but it was literally stated. Accept It already.
What's the big deal?
Yes, all of Rocks, Roger, and Shanks' abilities are sword skills (swordmanship), and their sword skills are inferior to Mihawk's, but yet they are all more powerful than Mihawk.

But that only means that Mihawk has better cutting skills than them; that's what Oda considers relevant to the debate about who is the best swordsman in the world.

Does Oda know this?

Mihawk’s combination of Haki, fighting skills, abilities, powers, weapon and physical attributes > Shanks’s combination of Haki, fighting skills, abilities, powers, weapon and physical attributes

thus, Mihawk > Shanks , as explicitly stated in the manga
That wasn't stated. It said he had greater swordsmanship, you're adding all the other stuff.

Swordsmanship by itself likely falls under Armament Specialist proficiency.

The moment you start calling Conqueror Coating an Armament Specialist's trait is the moment this all gets mixed up.

Yeah sure I must not oversimplify a manga for 13 years old :zosleepy:, this is not nuclear science we’re talking about
So you're allowed to oversimplify and I'm not allowed to "overcomplicate" it. That's how you argue?

You know what the pattern is? Each time the haki system gets more complex, you end up oversimplifying it.

It's probably pseudoscience which is a lot trickier.

There is a thing called Occam Razor
Use it
Actually, Occam's Razor doesn't mean what you think it does and doesn't apply in the way you think.
- My idea is the idea with the fewest assumptions, and is therefore the simplest one.
- Your idea is the idea with several assumptions to force everything to be the same.

Big difference.
