I unironically think he hates Usopp at this point. His Elbaph outfit and his first moment on Elbaph more or less was getting slapped by a giant cat and almost killed by it too. His writing in Wano made me extremely angry, along with some of Dressrosa and him in Egghead was just disappointing, too disappointing to even react. He used to be one of the most compelling, creative, funniest, interesting, bravest, tragic, nuanced etc characters, a real relatable underdog but sigh, Goda does it again.

Nah, I'd say that's an overexaggeration. But I would think even the most passionate writer of any kind may get a bit tired of any character after about 25 plus years of writing. I do think the increased focus on allies was a mix of wanting to spice things up and not have the SH's do every thing by themselves.

Also, sadly, with any big-scale anime with lots of things like movies, video games and the like, there's a status quo for the main characters. Not just One Piece, but you can see it in Dragon Ball, Naruto, etc.
