1. mc's dad being overpowered is always a troupe in shounen
2. it isn't based on vibe scaling at all , ging has alrdy shown freakish stuff
this guy can replicate any punch cuz of his talent , has defeated razor and is extremely skilled in nen mastery.
top 5 among humans too , that alone puts him above zoldyc family.
same zeno is inferior to chrollo or at best on par with him..
needed 1 year for hisoka who has alrdy shown all of his cards , he would need 5 years for ging lol.

Hil being skilled in nen doesn't mean he can beat zoldycks. Nothing states zoldycks can't beat razor either. Hisoka wasn't interested in fighting razor.
Netero holds zeno in high regard as well. Even if he is stronger he still thinks zeno as a rival.
They are famous as a group, but it's another thing completely them being known precisely for their individual power.
Even someone as informed as Silva was apparently taken aback about how powerful a random member was.
To judge if Chrollo was someone on the same level as Ging, Netero would have had to meet him or having extensive information about his powers, which he likely hadn't since not even Zeno and Silva knew what his powers were before fighting him.

Yeah in term of overall threat level
Pariston is likely quite hax by himself and with his brain he is likely a nasty opponent to deal with
he is portrayed to be Ging rival, it’s enough for us to hype him a lot
I think if Chrollo or Hisoka was tasked to kill Pariston and if Pariston wanted one of them dead, Pariston would win in the end
he would create the conditions to win
