Do you like the Live Action Adaption?

I'm genuinely in shock, this looks so fucking good, I can't believe it. They nailed the Unluckies, Laboon, Crocus, Robin's powers and outfit, Chopper (his voice and base form at least anyway) when it easily could have gone wrong/been done badly or just suffered due to budget or w/e but this is fantastic, it looks so promising.

Seeing Robin using her DF and it looking so "natural" along with the flower petals and one of her arms making a Marine shoot himself with his own gun were fucking peak and I kinda like the live action is more brutal like this. Makes it feel more like a pirate series and not the usual issue of people not dying from gunshots/stabs and sword wounds/fire etc in anime. But now I'm wondering how brutal shit is gonna get when we get the likes of Crocodile dehydrating people, Ace and Akainu burning/melting people down, Crocodile impaling Luffy with his hook, Robin snapping backs and breaking Tashigi's leg IIRC?

Fuck man. It's like One Piece has kinda grown up and rebooted itself to reflect that. Zoro actually chopped up the former Mr 7 and yet he doesn't do that to anybody else so far. MFer really cut up a black guy as his only kill.....

The trailer and music are fucking great. Costumes, sets/scenery, special effects etc. I cannot fucking wait, I'm so fucking excited.

One Piece LA Season 2, Invincible Season 4, The Boys Season 5/Finale and eventually the new Avengers film at the end of this year pretty much. What a year to look forward to genuinely, despite all the shittiness going on in the world atm and how uncertain and terrifiyng our futures are becoming rapidly.
Damn, I'm really happy to see you happy

No chance lol

It took them 3 years to produce season 2, and season 3 is Alabasta, will probably be around 2028.

I don't think we'll ever get past Season 3 imo. Too expensive.
Season 2 was originally slated to come out in 2025 but got delayed due to Stranger Things’ finale taking the November-December slot on Netflix’ schedule. One Piece’s season 3 is filming right now so it’s more likely to release in 2027. I don’t think they intended for season 2 to take this long to come out and it was more due to industry circumstances like the strikes and other shows

I have no idea how they are supposed to adapt Skypia... At least based on the trailer, Season 2 is already plagued with a lot of medicore CGi, like the shot from the castle of Drumm and Little Garden.

Now imagine them trying to adapt an arc that is solely taking place on clouds, a city with fairly complicated and odd architecture build on clouds, a giant island with plants and trees several times bigger than any existing plant in real life, with clouds surfable everywhere and a city made of gold....And that's on top of the God's army with all their Devil Fruits and other stuff, the Shandian army with their Dials and the giant ass snake lmfao...

If the LA continues to be successful, Issue might not even be the budget, but the lack of talent and guidance. Like S1 CGI wasn't top notch and S2 doesn't really look better, despite it's massive budget, so definitely wouldn't be shocked, if by the time we will reach Skypia, maybe even Alabasta we'll get serveda a CGi slugfest compensate, even though they could do a lot with practical effects, but that requires time, propper guidance and talent...

Or they skip Skypia all along and get straight forward to Ennies Lobby, which is much more tame, thus easier to adapt I'd imagine. This and Thriller Bark could actually in theory turn out excellent with propper practical effects in play.

Doub't though we'll ever get to Marineford, unless AI makes a massive jump within the next few years..

All fair points, and I agree the CG doesn't look great, but my bar for the show is so low as long as they don't completely embarrass us as One Piece fans like they did with Dragon Ball Evolution, I'll accept it.

I think if they are greenlit for a Season 4 and decide to adapt Skypiea, it will be a heavily truncated version of the arc.

you guys act like CGI clouds haven't been perfected for decades now

Skypeia really isn't that crazy in terms of fantasy architecture to adapt in live-action. It's literally just a mesoamerican city in the sky. I don't think anyone's gonna be shedding tears if they cut that stupid giant snake that Luffy was stuck in for a few chapters
