When the people in charge of maintaining said checks and balances do their actual job, there is merit to the system…when those spots are filled with the greedy, soulless cronies of a demented billionaire authoritarian and members of the opposing party stick their thumbs up their wrinkled assholes instead of fighting back, it becomes harder to pull off

Sadly.. Trump is simply a little more vocal and perhaps a little bit more agressive, but what is happening now, already happened and will happen again.

?Not everything is due to capitalism, there are other systems of domination. But imperialism is.
Here's my advice to you as an agnostic/atheist. My big breakaway from religion came when I was a teen and noticed how every single thing led back to god/satan. It's just not logical or plausible that this one thing is the answer to every bad or good thing that happens.
If your worldview relies on the same tactic it's just bullshit. Our reality is a lot more complex than that.
There is a problem with your argument here. You implied that my worldview is centered around the critic of capitalism thus I would be narrowing my bias and vision to this single point.
But what you do not take into account, probably because of a confirmation bias, is that I'm talking about a LOT of domination system outside of capitalism.
