Tbh I can see the whole marriage thing being made up. I think the giants just hate Linlin for what she’s done and they were spiting her by making up a lie. Remember she doesn’t know what she’s done to them, probably, and at that point in time they also hated Loki, so why not try getting them to go against each other and kill each other by spreading false rumors.
