Character Discussion Did Roger simping for Shakky make him lose all his aura?

Discussion on Roger and his character

When we were first introduced to Roger in the epilogue of chapther 1/episode 1 of the series he felt like a legendary larger than life figure like he was invincible like he was the greatest pirate who ever lived

He held up that position in a lot of viewers heads Espicially pre time skip considering he was less of a charachter and more of a legendary figure and he held up that position because the only time we ever got to see him in the story proper minus the stuff at chapther was short flashbacks with Whitebeard and Rayleigh which were like a few panels long

Here comes Oden's flashback where Roger does not behave like the legendary figure we all expected him to act as instead he behaves like Luffy and not to mention all the Oden glaze (I hate Oden) where he begged Whitebeard on his hands and knees for Oden

The story not satisfied with just Luffying Roger decided to Sanjify him too as that chapter 1156 has him proudly deciding to take Shakky from the Kuja pirates and then losing to Shakky in a humiliating gag scene like an idiot with a bump on his head and hearts in his eyes
(Wasn't he literally at her feet if I remember correctly)

So did Roger lose all aura or not?

Idk I think I like that side of him

People complained that Roger was too much like Luffy but when Roger does something that Luffy would never do in a million years (openly court a woman and attempt to steal her from her crew) they continue to complain

I think the whole “aura” thing is stupid anyway. A character like Roger having presence is important but maintaining that all the time is so boring

There needs to be a blend. There’s a reason why people complain about someone like Zoro mainly being a stoic swordsman now when he used to laugh and goof off with everyone else (though people blew that out of proportion, he still does it from time to time)

I felt like everyone lost some shine tbh.
Roger story is pretty much defined for wanting a woman who didn't want him and then later becoming the pirate king. It's one thi
WB actions towards the end was also kinda shitty. It was pretty telling he just left his captain after a clash or two and didn't even go back to check on him. WB is supposed to be the moral standard of the old generation and even him kinda failed a bit in that sense.
Garp image though kinda improved greatly from the flashback given all he did and the decisions he made in the heat of the moment without any hesitation.

Watch the same people wank loki for simping for underage Lola.
:risisweat:hypocrites at its peak.

And frankly nothing really changed aura wise to me, atleast for roger or anyone who was simping for shakky lol.

They are far better than natural predator like sanji.
