I mean if you guys are excited for wings vs Sommers and Gillingham I won't spoil your pleasure but I can't see them as anything but COC training tools.
Sommers role is to be top tiers hype tool
Gillingham monsters get one shotted by anybody decently strong
Dorry and Broggy "jobbing" to Mr.3 (although they were always portrayed as stronger than him even back then, which is why he used underhanded way) was 25 years ago when Oda still had a poor grasp of the powerlevels, but HKs being unimpressive is very recent

That's mostly because Oda completely butchered any hype the HKs could have by making them even worse during the Fraud Valley event.
He draws some cool panels of them and that's it.
Action time?
They get obliterated when facing any strong opponent.

Also oda went out of his way to separate the only people who actually gave the HKs hype, Shamrock and Gunko, by saying Shanrock was a rare and special talent and Gunko was the personal attendant to Imu.

HKs on average are crappy fighters with Imu hax carrying them

I agree he should have given us much more HK action in GV but I don't think their portrayal is that bad as it is. Gunko destroyed half the strawhats effortlessly, Kilingham was keeping the entire Elbaf at bay and Sommers clashed with Gaban. Sommers got defeated but Gaban is a top tier, knew how to counter his regeneration and went all out to defeat him asap and save his child. They are not top tiers, this is what we should expect from fighters on that level

I just disagree
Here is the reality
Shamrock is the only one through potrayal that might be top tier (he was getting the shanks strength level gas in the flashback)
Gunko is the only one with a decent feat low diffing the whole crew with her immortality playing no role.

The rest are not impressive even Garlic was already hinted being a bum potrayed as a potential rival to sommers (which i was absolutely right on btw. ey lmao, see the retarded "garlic is top tier" threads when GV was begining) and than proven to be.

No one even fucking talks about killingham beside the usual suspects

And sommers is only talked about not because of his PL but he has the most character and really funny villain personality




I will say this as a group they clear the gorobums those characters are so fucking boring i would actually might pause reading one piece if they would became main opponents over a extendend period of time in the final arc or something
