Birdcage is impressive and speaks to his insane versatility and mastery of his fruit, which is definitely way more then we see from most characters, but it doesn´t really have much to do with a 1v1 fight, his strings just lack power and toughness, which is how he ended up losing to Luffy at that point.

Where Boundman surpassed the armament of Katakuri and Cracker, Luffy was unable to damage the length of his strings. He managed to beat Boundman by running the clock with his defense.

- Smoker is too honest of a Marine leaving Doffy with only option of killing him to silence him as Sugar was not there
- Try to fight off Aokiji. Realize it is better to leave the fight as Aokiji was a FA candidate, too strong for Doffy alone.

Scenario 2
- Plan A: Let Luffy leave, make a deal with WG, have a truce with Fujitora. Force Law to do immortality OP.
- Realize Fujitora is sabotaging him. Luffy refusing too leave Doffy/Law to their business.
- Plan B: Have Sugar turn the dangerous foes to toys = no one will come after him.
- Plan C: If Sugar fails he needed to kill Luffy & especially Fujitora. The later he probably planned to kill together with Pica, Trebol and the rest of the crew. Probably possible as well, same as BBs crew vs Garp. Doffy by himself could hold Fujitora relatively honest and the rest are all problematic DF users.

Imo Doffy alreadh can give Greenbull an extreme fight on his own.

I really don't get your point here tbh. Doffy was basically forced into fighting Luffy and Law and I see no reason for him to secretly hold back on them when they were trying to kill him

He wasn't holding back. He was in sorrow (Vergo), anger (Law), stress (Kaido), anguish (his lifes work Dressrosa), pressed (Fujitora), split minded (crew mates at risk), unsure (Luffy playing hero) and probably more.

He had to keep up Bird Cage (I think that, same as Kaidos carrying Onigashima, sapped a lot of stamina). He wanted to rule Dressrosa, not destroy it, so he would prefer to keep it as unscatched as possible but Zoro is doing island level attacks and Fujitora is dropping meteors.

He fought two future yonko/pirate king level guys (still extremely under rated/flying under the radar at this point) with 5B+5B berries DFs while still knowing other dangerous guys like Cavendish, Zoro, Kinemon, Fujitora, Sabo, Bartolomeo, VA Bastille or the like at any moment could attack him or his crew. Even if he won anyone of them could do a Green Bull vs King and the rest (and like he tried vs Luffy and the rest). Luffy and Law earned Big Mom and Kaidos praise like the next week, the world didn't know their real threat yet.

Coming back Doffy doesn't have to protect anything or fear anything. He can just wreck havoc, he has already lost it all.

Can't this apply to most villains? Don't you think Arlong was sad and pissed when he saw Hatchan and Kuroobi get their lunch money stolen by two randoms with no bounties?
I don't think thats enough to say a character is nerfed against the people they're fighting. What nerfed Doffy was him having to constantly stitch his organs back together as he fought G4.
Also this whole "Luffy and Law did really impressive things in the future so it's a big feat for Doffy to be able to give them a tough fight" thing is kind of asinine, no? You don't see people hyping King up saying "Zoro is the future WSS and will defeat/kill Mihawk" as it's not relevant to their fight. Sure Zoro will do that, but it's not like King fought that specific version of Zoro, so why bring it up?

Edit: BTW their fruits are only that valuable because of the immortality surgery and the awakening of the Nika fruit, neither being used in Dressrosa.
