Loki witnessed Saint Shanks beating Loki, and Loki never implied that Shanks cheated or got help.

MHM yeah sure bro, Loki never implied Saint Shanks captured him through unfair means, totally

It would also be very out of character for Shanks to just lie about beating Loki fairly
When did Saint Shanks claim to have 1v1’d Loki?

The point of them lying about Loki murdering Harald and harassing Elbaf was because Oda wanted to mislead the readers into believing Loki was a bad person so that they would be surprised when the truth came out (even though everyone and their mom guessed that Loki would actually be good). What would be accomplished by lying about Shanks beating Loki solo? Why would be a valid in-verse or out of verse reason for Oda and the characters to cover up the RHPs jumping Loki or poisoning him or whatever?
It´s all presented to us around the same time though, the same arc. We learn that Loki is this horrible guy, who terrorized Elbaf, then he went to the seas and terrorized it before he was stopped by the good Yonko, Shanks. So readers would think that Loki was a bad guy beyond just the opinion of Elbaf people, I myself thought Loki could still be a bit of an antagonist(like Katakuri level evil, so not openly super evil but pretty okay with killing people). We now know that wasn´t the dynamic at all, if Shanks stopped Loki, it must have been Lokis good, to keep him away from the government, so we can now find out it was either situational, or Shanks captured him without fighting him, it wouldn´t break from the pattern of the flashback.

Remember, we were first told Roger and Garp teamed up against Rocks to stop him from killing CDs, and obviously the arc showed that wasn´t really true. Even crazier, in the OP verse, they were told Garp did it alone, I think literally Loki would probably think that too actually.

Didn’t he literally say on the next page that he was just kidding lol? Anyways, I think it’s kinda obvious that Loki calling Shanks a coward has to do with Shanks to agreeing to help him fight the WG. Idk why y’all think that Oda would even consider writing Shanks to be a dishonorable scumbag who has to poison, ambush, or jump Loki in order to capture him

Ok but why would they need to lie about Shanks beating Loki solo? Why would they need to cover up the fact that Shanks’s crew helped him out? The only way you could rationalize that is by arguing that Shanks is actually a dishonorable scumbag who wants to inflate his reputation, which obviously goes against his entire characterization throughout the manga and is just a joke suggestion.

All we´ve heard is that Shanks stopped him, it´s not like we heard about some famous legendary battle(which even semi prime Shanks was having before he even fought Harald), so it´s just random hearsay statements. It helps create a context for the reader to think of Loki as evil based on random hearsay statements(he killed his father for a devil fruit and was a threat to the entire world until Shanks heroically stopped him), and we know these random hearsay statements regarding Loki have been like 0/4

Well, I don´t think so? In the flashback we saw that Shanks wanted to stop Harald from taking the seal, and then we saw that he felt bad he couldn´t warn him. Then he and Gaban are shown being worried about what Loki would do when he said he would go to avenge Imu, so given that he already feels bad about the situation, he would probably try to prevent Loki from being hurt too, and we know Shanks said he´s a pirate, he doesn´t fight fair....

But anyway, if you believe Shanks>Loki, that´s fine. As long as you believe that Loki is stronger then Goofy, which is the most important for the agenda rn. I just think it´s fair to be skepticial of any of the statements we heard at the start of the arc lol.

Shanks beat Loki because he has the power to negate DFs abilities with CoC.

We saw how Joyboy’s haki negated the gorosei’s transformation and undid their teleportation.

Shanks, who’s haki was compared to Joyboy’s by the giants, did something similar against GB, undoing his transformation.

At Shanks’s level, Loki’s DF was useless.

If the arc ends and we get no info about it not being a fair fight, will you change your mind?

He was just calming Luffy down, clearly Loki absolutely implied that Saint Shanks captured him through cowardly means.

Anyways, I think it’s kinda obvious that Loki calling Shanks a coward has to do with Shanks to agreeing to help him fight the WG.
Pretty sure you included a typo here.

Loki: “Saint Shanks, help me fight the WG!”

Saint Shanks: “Okay”

Loki: “Coward!”

If you haven’t read any of Elbaph, I could almost understand this perspective, even though Saint Shanks being honorless snitching scum was implied decades ago when Sengoku implied Saint Shanks had a government connection.

But if you actually read Elbaph, the idea that Saint Shanks is a liar and a coward is well established.

Loki outright calls him a coward

Zoro mocks Luffy for believing in Saint Shanks

Gaban tells Luffy that Luffy doesn’t know who Saint Shanks is

Luffy assumes Shamrock is a good person by his relationship to Saint Shanks when Shamrock is evil as fuck, further reinforcing Luffy’s ignorance

The Harald flashback establishes that Saint Shanks is an extremely skilled liar, skilled enough to lie to everyone in the Holy Land and never get caught, but sure he’s definitely not lying to anyone else, mhm totally

It’s like all of Elbaph, an arc who’s central plot line is about a group of children trapped into a zombie like dream state due to the manipulations of Celestial Dragon, is feeding the idea to you that Saint Shanks is a liar on a silver platter and you’re still missing it, lol

This conversation would be so much easier if you were sentient

Nah, even though you got your W with Loki being so strong, Shanks being evil is like, completely dead now.

>We know Oda created a completely new, potentially stronger character whos a shanks twin, while being completely evil, there isn´t going to be 2 evil Shanks´s
>We know about Shanks´s government connection, he lied to them so he could gain intel
>he tried to use that intel to get Harald to not do the second seal, because it would screw over Elbaf, and he risked his life to even try stopping Harald lol
> we saw him feeling really bad about just being born a CD, he was almost as sad as Loki was
>he didn´t try to kill Loki after capturing him, and probably told Gaban to free Loki when luffy arrived.
> Shanks is clearly more comfortable around Gaban and Rayleigh then he is around his biological family, where he´s clearly uncomfortable

It would have been a cool theory, but there isn´t really any point to it anymore, and Shanks is probably going to die after this arc anyway, obviously to some antagonist, with Teach being most likely, but also the government with Imu or other figarats.
