Didn’t he literally say on the next page that he was just kidding lol?
He was just calming Luffy down, clearly Loki absolutely implied that Saint Shanks captured him through cowardly means.
Anyways, I think it’s kinda obvious that Loki calling Shanks a coward has to do with Shanks to agreeing to help him fight the WG.
Pretty sure you included a typo here.
Loki: “Saint Shanks, help me fight the WG!”
Saint Shanks: “Okay”
Loki: “Coward!”
Idk why y’all think that Oda would even consider writing Shanks to be a dishonorable scumbag who has to poison, ambush, or jump Loki in order to capture him
If you haven’t read any of Elbaph, I could almost understand this perspective, even though Saint Shanks being honorless snitching scum was implied decades ago when Sengoku implied Saint Shanks had a government connection.
But if you actually read Elbaph, the idea that Saint Shanks is a liar and a coward is well established.
Loki outright calls him a coward
Zoro mocks Luffy for believing in Saint Shanks
Gaban tells Luffy that Luffy doesn’t know who Saint Shanks is
Luffy assumes Shamrock is a good person by his relationship to Saint Shanks when Shamrock is evil as fuck, further reinforcing Luffy’s ignorance
The Harald flashback establishes that Saint Shanks is an extremely skilled liar, skilled enough to lie to everyone in the Holy Land and never get caught, but sure he’s definitely not lying to anyone else, mhm totally
It’s like all of Elbaph, an arc who’s central plot line is about a group of children trapped into a zombie like dream state due to the manipulations of Celestial Dragon, is feeding the idea to you that Saint Shanks is a liar on a silver platter and you’re still missing it, lol
This conversation would be so much easier if you were sentient
