General & Others Cross Guild is a Front of a Front

#SBS111 Oda explains how Cross Guild is profitable
R: I don't understand very well how Cross Guild operates. It's referred to as operating like a company and business, but are they really profitable? If they give money to any civilians who take the heads of Marine soldiers, I feel like they'd go bankrupt really quickly. - P.N. Yuutan

O: Cross Guild's very existance is a big problem for the Marines. The fear of being attacked by anyone anywhere has tanked their morale quite a lot. This slows down Marine operations, making it easier for the "dark companies" of the underworld to operate, meaning they make more money. Cross Guild serves as a public front, with the dark companies paying for the bounty sums.
Furthermore, there's a dark side of this world that gambles on "which Marine will be killed?". which results in even more money from society contributing to this fund. So in reality, they're actually making quite a lot of profit.

Something a lot of people seem to miss about Cross Guild is that everything about them is a distraction. Crocodile chooses Mihawk to join him because of his FORMER “Marine Hunter” epithet. Emphasis on former. Whatever Mihawk was up to in his youth, he no longer gives a shit about it.

Crocodile knows Mihawk doesn’t care about the marines. He nonetheless wants to team up with him FOR THE APPEARANCE that Cross Guild has a political agenda of some kind using Mihawk’s former escapades as “proof” that they have an agenda against the Marines.

Same with Buggy being installed as Yonko so that the marines don’t realize that Crocodile and Mihawk have other business going on. Buggy can yap about wanting to find the one piece but he can’t make Crocodile and Mihawk do anything so until plot gags give buggy a Free ride to Laugh tale, even Buggy’s proclamation that they are after One Piece doesn’t mean anything. Plot nonsense will get Cross guild to Laugh tale, not them actually trying to actually go there since Crocodile and Mihawk don’t care.

Everything about Cross guild’s public persona is a lie. Their leader is a lie. Their goals are a lie. The only true thing about them is what Crocodile and Mihawk say. Crocodile wants money. Mihawk wants peace. Nothing else about them is true.

I don’t think anyone really disputes this, their intentions have been clear and plot will absolutely place them where they need to be especially in relation to encountering the Strawhats, which will probably conveniently happen the same time they meet Red Hair and wager all the stones.

I hope oda gives us mihawk vs fujitora or wengoku.
Green Bull ruined it for us. With Shanks and Mihawk being states as near equals and Fujitora and Green Bull portrayed as near equals Mihawk would need to haki diff Fujitora which I can't or dont want to see happen.

Sengoku on the other hand would be perfect. He scales to Garp and we recently saw Aokiji + crew take him down. If Mihawk folds him easier it works perfectly for scaling Mihawk beyond (conflicted) Aokiji + crew. Also Sengoku could have planned/took part in the Marines betrayal of Mihawk back in the day.

Why would Mihawk fight any of these guys? He’s perfectly fine with letting Cross guild be destroyed of it no longer serve its purpose to him

Why would Mihawk fight an admiral?

Why would Mihawk fight an admiral?
1 He has an old grudge against Marines for betraying him. Who has worked for the Marines for 50+ years and is known as the great strategist (including organizing betrayals)?

2 Taking Sengoku out could lead to the OP world regarding Cross Guild as the real deal and thus increase their business opportunities.

It’s on “Old grudge”

Mihawk has been a warlord for however long working with Sengoku and marines for however long. He got over whatever beef he had with the marines.

there is literally nothing about taking out Sengoku that would help Mihawk
