Controversial Would Wano have been a better arc if Oden,Orochi, the scabbards and Yamato just did not exist ?

Without Yamato nothing not much would have changed. Oden at lease gave the scabbards and Momo a backstory.

Yamato just came in for no reasons

Loda‘s handling of Kaido is the issue why Wano was a shiteshow.

His sketches how Kaido‘s hybrid was supposedly look and work was way better than what we‘ve seen. The only good thing was his drunkmode.

We needed an awakened version of Kaido, we also didn‘t need him being beaten by just G5 Goofy.

And honestly Kaido should have rather be beaten in all out war against the WG and the challenging rookies, Yonkos etc.

I absolutely despise his connection to boring Wano, Samurais etc.

Oden plot line was key to Kaido's story. Oda just made kaido a meat head that's all. If you sub out Oden and the rest kaido gets even more boring as a character. Oda should have given kaido more depth which would have allowed him more to work with as rather arcs main villain. Him being so simple means the side character had to have a bigger role and we needed a flash back to keep the story vested. Taking oden and the rest out wouldn't have made the arc any better and would have made it worse but shorter.

I’m holding out oda does something for Yamato and momo characters before they lead the samurai into the finale war better yet let zoro do it.

Tbh no one is saying to completely cut Oden, unless you want to change the arc completely.

Just to rewrite him from the obnoxious, omnipresent and omnisucked Gary Stu in a normal, likeable character with some different plot points.

Yamato was actually the saving grace for majority if not the entirery of the arc, she herself solo literally saved the entire island from Kaido going wild and stalling him long enough for Luffy to return, saved Momo as well as nurturing him to find his own strength and courage which in turn also prevented onigashima from falling on the flower capitol saving the entirety of Wano all together, she also prevented the armory from exploding and saving the island once more, defeated Ulti freeing Luffy from a fight, rallied the entirety of the shinobi alliance, but thats really not a conversation any of you new gens can understand.

the hate for yamato is so laughable being if Yamato was not on Wano the alliance loses flat out luffy returns to aa crew that is annihilated & then dies himself.

True, but in the answers all those who have talked about Oden, talked about re-writing him.

I would have totally erased from the arc BM, Yamato and some scrabbards though.
I agree mostly imo keep Yamato just cut back on the oden obsession. Actually have orochi be strong and fill bm role while removing bm. I'd actually want some of the scabbards to turn to kaido and orochi side to have a internal fight other scabbards. It'd make kaido more of a character seeing as he could turn the loyal characters and show he's not just a meat head but could be charismatic and turn characters without needing to try and break them.

Obv. being there she did something, but Yamato overall was one of the wrost characters ever conceived by Oda as far as I am concerned.

if Yamato wasnt there then literally Kaido wins and Wano is nuked.....

but sure go ahead with your reasonings why Yamato is the worst character & who takes her place if she wasnt there

I simply don't like how Oda made her. Sure as hell I don't like at all that "I'm Oden" metal disorder, more so when she said it in front of Oden's orphan son. Also, Oda made sure to have her suck up Ace randomly, which is another no.
She isn't also part of the plot in any way: she randomly pop up at some point and starts doing things: at least, made her part of Kaido's actions and have her redeem herself down the line.
And so on.

About her role, obv. the arc would have changed. It would have been nice, for example, instead of having the Scrabbards randomly go against Kaido before and being clapped (as obvious: they already knew they were no match), use them to buy time against him instead of Yamato. And possibly even prevent the island from exploding after.

she was forced into imprisonment since she was a child and forced to fight her father for 20 years, all she had to cling to was Odens diary which came from a deep admiration & desperation for freedom. If you actually read the manga she took on Odens persona to emulate his spirit & goals. Overall it was a coping mechanism.

not sure if you know this but Oda is an actual genius and doesnt just make everything surface level

every person just randomly pops up at some point and starts randomly doing things lol

Yamato was introduced before "she popped up" Kaido was searching for her and she took her own path and was able to help fulfil one of Odens goals, liberating Wano.

what exactly did she have to redeem herself from?

the arc would have changed with the alliance losing.

randomly went against kaido, not sure what is at all random about it, like at least please read the manga before complaining lol

not sure if you know this but for most of the scabbards they've held a 20 year grudge and were over confident in their new found strength. did they get handled incorrectly possibly yes, they shouldve been the ones to actually kill kaido and orochi, but no they all combined would have been unable to fight hybrid kaido for over 15-20 minutes strength whil also effectively wearing him down and physically hurting him and knocking him down.
