what angers me about Usopp is not his strength, but his personality. he has better aim than Legolas, he could be way more effective as a fighter if he wasn't such a coward. and I thought that after awakening observation haki at Dressrossa, things would change, but they didn't and we are already at Elbaf

Oda decided it's better to give us 3284 side characters and let them be useful in a fight.

Gone are the days of Usopp getting it out of the mud.

Hell, he only used his fucking thing once.


Luffy can sense strength and knows Usopp is strong to defeat this cat, which could take a real beating.

He's weak
99% of his role is for a comedy purpose.
He's the opposite of Luffy - weak willed, intelligent, coward and liar but also share similarities in being goofy and lucky.
That's why their friendship and chemistry is great.

There's only 1 good feat of "sniper skills" i can recall in whole series i.e the Sugar moments, with observation haki feat too.
And we never got something like that from him again...... there's nothing that can point out that make him "strong"...... he's portrayed as the buggy of the crew for a reason. I think that's not hard to see.
