It makes sense, Since Oda gave Luffy the Nika fruit, he's made it pretty clear he doesn't really care much about the rest of the SHP. Leaving Zoro fans with no argument against Loki "okay but bro, Yamato tho..."

Well that's tough to do and there are 2 reasons for this

1.The joke has caught up to them and their character: Dunking on Sanji was funny back then because Zoro genuinely had an argument above Luffy entering post skip while Sanji was a tool sometimes competing with Franky it seemed. Now Sanji and Zoro are both chicken wings. The beginning of the end was the inception of this title on Wano but the existence of Gaban was the nail in the coffin.

2.Zoro fans can't separate Zoro from fiction: They don't realize a japanese man named Oda is drawing their fave character and he has been playing their fandom like a fiddle. Oda does not care about the strawhats, he's been done with them since the timeskip, most have caught on, Zoro fans still like to hope.

Scopper Gaban is lowkey one of the funniest things to happen in this manga tbh. For years, Zboys used the fact that Sanji’s Roger Pirate parallel was an “irrelevant fodder” as proof that Zoro >> Sanji, only for Oda to make Gaban a key player in Elbaf, explicitly stated to be the old gen Sanji, and stated multiple times to be Ray‘s nigh equal. Gaban really set those fools up
