I watched both. To me, they're quite good, I probably liked the first one a little more than the second. However, I think I would benefit from learning more about mythology behind Ne Zha to appreciate it more fully. Also, these movies are targeted for younger audiences, so some humor might seem a little juvenile:)
Hi mate.
Oh good, finally someone here who knows Ne Zha.
Did you notice how Ne Zha did many things that western animation never did? The use of the concepts of epic fantasy, mythology and magic, the fights, battles and power systems, the excellence of the cast of characters, and the complexity of the story, are unprecedented in the history of animations, fiction and entertainment. How did you like it ?
China is on track to overtake the United States as a global superpower, and this applies to all aspects, including the entertainment industry. The Chinese animation style, donghua, is on the rise. It has similarities to the Japanese style, but the industry doesn't have the flaws that make much of anime/manga industry bad. There are videos on youtube talking about this novelty(I'll show two below.). I've only watched Ne Zha , but there seems to be a lot more good content out there. I need to find out where to watch it.

I find that funny
Because Berserk had a flashback that was, what, 80 chapters long? Or something like that? And everyone glazes that (rightfully so, very well written arc, but ykwim).
Yeah but if you’re talking about the arc that I assume you are (Guts’ youth/start with Griffith) then I’d say that’s very different

Berserk’s flashback basically serves as the beginning/intro of the story. If you watched the movie first then it’s literally the beginning

Idk if there’s a single OP flashback that’s as integral as that flashback arc. It’s literally the MC’s origin story (who you know very little about beforehand)

Domi regenerating kind of defeats the point of the Holy Knights.
Like why have 13 HKs where if they die Imu gets hurt, if he can create the same immortal army through Domi reverse without consequences?
The difference is Domi is temporary from what we’ve seen. Once they’re defeated they’re no longer under Imus control and lose all the boosts.

HKs are much more eternal and can heal from almost anything in time.

Fair point. But while it's not quite as important as that, I do think a Void Century flashback could still be the most important flashback in the series, as so many things in this series ultimately revolve around the Void Century in some way. Even in Alabasta we had Crocodile trying to find Pluton.

DR is essentially series breaking if Oda doesn't give some type of nerf. Like, you can genuinely wonder how the series even started without Imu just Dr'ing anyone who messes with him. It's a pretty horrible choice regardless, imo.

tbh Dagon was at least threatening, same with Hanami. I think the big thing was Gege did a better job of keeping these people scary or making sure to showcase how scary they were properly.
They were threatening within the series but they’re pretty consistently disrespected by the fandom due to their conclusions

Not that I have a problem with how they died though. I’d say most of them were fitting especially Mahito’s

I loved Jogo’s too tbh
