General & Others Random question I don’t see brought up much

If Naruto had never been the Nine-Tails jinchuriki, would he still have become Hokage — or was Kurama the single biggest factor in his entire trajectory?

I’m not talking about raw power alone. Being a jinchuriki shaped how the village treated him, which shaped his personality, which fueled his need for acknowledgment. Without that isolation and that power source, does he still grind the same way? Does he even get trained by Jiraiya?

Personally, I think he still would’ve been strong because of his lineage, but I’m not convinced he reaches Hokage without Kurama forcing the world to take him seriously.

Because it’s impossible to know. Plenty of characters had relatively good lives and want to be Hokage. Maybe he would’ve found motivation somewhere else?

regardless we can all agree his talent alone without the Kyubi would be Kage level

Yes, because the mamga is still called Naruto lol.

Even without Kurama, remember that Jiraiya was Minato's sensei, so eventually he was gonna take Naruto.

Naruto defeated Pain thanks to his sage mode, he only missed Tendo if I am not mistaken, but no Kurama, no reason to take Naruto with him, so he could train more, have more friends, better skills since child.

His sage mode is usally thanks to being indra incarnation, being Uzumaki and being Namikaze, so his chakra levels were always high.

His goal was to be hokage, that doesn't have to do with just being just a jinchuriki, but his main goal, many want to be hokage.

Being a jinchuuriki held Naruto back for most of his life.

It limited his chakra control, and thereby his capacity for learning ninjutsu.

Even without Kurama, Naruto has enormous chakra reserves. Without a Tailed Beast to hold him back in his formative years, and no reason to mistreat him, he probably would have ended up being a Hashirama type of shinobi.

I'm guessing he'd have learned a lot more Wind Release techniques and other ninjutsu.

He only wanted to become Hokage originally because he wanted acknowledgement, so without it, he wouldn't have it in his mind, Naruto isn't really the type to like desk work and such. His second goal in becoming Hokage is about promoting understanding between people, but he only gets interested in that because of his own experience with discrimination. So I think he would be like Jiraiya, drifting around, traveling the world and training younger Ninja sometimes.

It wasnt about the power he gained it was being acknowledged by his people. Even without the fox he had his clone technique, rasengan passed down, and Uzumaki chakra reserves he could have been great without the fox.

If Minato was still alive he could’ve wanted acknowledgement of his own merits instead of being looked at as the Hokage’s son aka Konohamaru

if Minato and Kushina had died he could’ve wanted to become someone they’d be proud of

it’s impossible to know because Kishi showed us everybody wants to be hokage for different reasons
