Totally agree with you. The fanboys will glaze the series regardless. It has amazing character emotion, incredible fights and creative and artful animation from Mappa, but the writing and story telling without the fights has always been either pretentious or clunky. Like its literally hard to follow and badly structured. I got this from feeling from the manga too. The creative fights and badass characters hard carries this series.
