Blackbeard’s crew should be stronger than the Holy Knights, since they are the next enemies in the story.
If Blackbeard kills Imu, there is a possibility that, just like he hunted down Devil Fruits and distributed them to his crew, he could share the powers he acquires from Imu.
He might then turn his crew members into a kind of new Holy Knights by giving them contracts or granting them those powers
I think this is the route we are ultimately going to go tbh.
Coz even DF awakenings is not gonna be enough justification to put Blackbeard's subordinates on the level they are going to be required to be at come the end of the series. Except Oda's gonna introduce Level 2 awakening or something.

Also, something I think is also very indicative of Teach potentially stealing Imu's DF is Imu's contract being based on the sea even though that is clearly a theme around Davy Jones. Could be that Imu stole Davy Jones DF in the past hence why he can use contracts etc. What will also be interesting about is that if Teach steals Imu's DF, he might not necessarily inherit immortality as immortality itself is probably exclusive to Imu so will fix this problem of weaker SHs being able to fight against immortals.

Doggo

Talent is something you make bloom.

Time to retcon the fact that they were lvl 6 prisoners alongside the likes of Jimbo,Ace,Crocodile, etc and should actually be strong.
About damn time.

Like it or not, Oda doesn't really care anymore about the new generation surpassing the old theme for anyone except the MC, and his peers. Loki and Teach. Loki having already surpassed his father.

There's no reason to think Usopp will ever be stronger then Yassop, it isn't even his real goal.
I think Kid and Law probably went away so they could power up off screen and keep up with the power creep.

Realistically, I could see them both being Roger level or stronger by EoS. Especially given that Roger level isn’t really a big deal anymore.

When was it confirmed they would fight at all, let alone 1v1? Only Luffy vs Teach is really confirmed with setup between the two, we don't have any major idea what will happen beyond that. And nothing says that Usopp can't get help in a fight since even Luffy gets that.

Anyway, Van Aguar isn't even confirmed above Vergo, but if he is, he won't lose to Usopp in a fair 1v1 fight. Vergo is simply on a level beyond the weakhats, and Doffy is too much for the midhats.
You gotta let go of the Vergo wank jokes. They were funny for a while but now it's gotten old.
It doesn't even work, nobody's going to fall for this type of bait because it's painfully obvious that none of Teach's Commanders will be that weak.
Teach's crew could even surpass his father's crew, given that Teach is going to surpass both Xebec and Davy Jones, so there's no reason to believe even people like Doc Q won't be fairly strong.

I don’t expect huge power up gaps. I expect Usopp to beat people much stronger than him with his tricks.
I've said it multiple times before but I'll say it again.
If Usopp defeats Killingham, I'm willing to bet it'll be something similar to this attack:

Obviously it may not be exactly like this fight, but, the basic idea of a plant that can keep him restrained for a long time and keep draining energy from him very slightly slower than he can regenerate.

They are collectively stronger than Gunko, Sommers, and Qilingham.

But like, I doubt they could beat Imu’s entire crew of knights.

Van Augur had his attacks blocked by Jean Bart lol.

This isn’t Usopp. He is a fodder. His entire character is about him being a fodder. He won’t beat one of the villains.

Usopp’s big moment this arc might be him stalling Imu for the sake of his friends. It’s the trope of a normal human vs a god that you see so often in fiction.

Imu obviously wont take Usopp seriously and Usopp will probably get his ass beat. But that’s the point. To show Usopp has courage despite being a fodder.
