I did that too in the beginning when I began to read also on a tablet. I started with a monitor pc to read digital manga, but with a tablet with a big screen is good too.
But reading in double pages is like reading a physical manga. When you read a physical manga you read it with two pages in front of you and you don't miss double pages compositions. With a single page at the time you can't perceive that. Of course the tablet should be tilted horizontally

The irony there though is that Oda proably didn't even think that far ahead.
Don't think Jimbe is a joke even if he does look a bit incompetent, just think Oda is lazy.
With the way the climax of the arc is set up it was obvious that Oda was going to give the wings the spotlight with Jimbe getting relegated into the gallery in some capacity but Oda's doing what we always does which I really hate about his writing which is trying to eat his cake and have it.
Jinbe, gets his ass kicked by Gunko and captured and then Oda gives him this retarded excuse of him "thinking of a solution" to justify him doing fck all. Even though the SHs were quite literally at the Holy Knights mercy and Imu was wreaking havoc on Elbaf.
Then now he gets freed thanks to Brook's hard work but Robin is still captured so to save face for him Oda gives him another retarded excuse of "ah! so it's weak to very high heat" when Oda's already establsihed that Sommers thorns are not normal thorns and we get Zoro cut those same bloody thorns this same chapter without "high heat"
Oda's wants to give the wings the spotlight but he also doesn't want Jimbe to look like a complete bum but instead of investing a bit of time into how he can write him so that he doesn't look like a complete bum, he just throws in these statement instead to save face for him.
Personally I don't think there is any shame in Jimbe losing to Gunko, her abiilty is pretty hax but the way he's handled everything after that has been piss poor for someone of his caliber. All I'm asking is for him to just bloody try like the others Robin, Brook, Chopper even if he fails.
Like if we got a scene of Jinbe trying to tear apart Sommers thorns but is faced with some sort of hax and is unable to and then we get some sort of confirmation that the thorns can't be cut or break apart by normal means and then we have only Sanji burn his thorns with that statement, even if somewhat contrived it'd work but rather we had both Sanji and Zoro casually destorying the thorns

i feel like oda knows the memes about Jinbe being a bum because it’s literally a joke in the manga with Nami yelling she thought they were safe cause Jinbe was with them.
That line seemed like a direct jab at Jinbe being a disappointment and with this chapter having everyone freed and Jinbe did nothing to accomplish it is the cherry on top.
