Nika #1 does not appear to be a DF user. As we can see from the silhouette of Joyboy and G5 Luffy, the Nika fruit’s full power has the white cloak indicating DF awakening.

Nika #1 does not seem to have this white cloak, whereas it does have the signature white Nika hair.

Could this indicate that Nika #1 was not a DF user, but rather some sort of ancient primordial entity that like Ratatoskr, essentially became a DF power?

I think DFs entered sometime during the 2nd or 3rd world, and they represent people and things from the 1st world.

Yes, I also believe that the ancient gods existed, but it was the entity behind Imu that killed them all. All the mythical Zoans are the remaining essence of those ancient gods.
I also believe that some gods allied with this evil entity, while others did not. Perhaps a huge war between the gods occurred, resulting in the complete destruction of the world, which eventually led to the Second World and the appearance of Devil Fruits.

The current Imu seems to have been born during Joyboy's era, I'm definitely sure of that, based on how ignorant he was about Nidhogg whereabouts, and how much PTSD he has from Joyboy.

Either DFs only came into existence in second world and gods existed in first world or DF existed in first world.

I like the first option more.

I think devil fruits had to exist in the 1st world because that War God and Nika both seem to be there and the War God was known to transform into a dragon. Whether Nika has smoke around him or not, that dude is still acting like a Zoan user.
