Believe it or not, time in One Piece might truly be manipulated.

By who?

Obviously, by Imu-sama.

Think about it. If Imu erased history during the Void Century and rewrote the geography of the world, then why wouldn’t Imu also manipulate the timeline itself? If history can be falsified, time can be falsified too.

If time was faked, then the Void Century may not have happened 800 years ago. It could have happened much more recently, maybe around 100 years ago.

That would also mean the length of years and the perception of time could have been altered. If you sleep in a closed room with no sunlight, you lose your sense of time. You would not know how many hours, days, or even years have passed. That could be what happened during the Void Century on a global scale.

This would also mean Imu is not truly immortal. Imu could simply be around 100 years old.

So what is the secret of Imu’s “immortality”?

It may be the same secret as Dr. Kureha’s youth.

Dr. Kureha from One Piece is known for her unnatural longevity. What if Kureha is actually Imu? What if she is the wicked stepmother archetype who stole the throne from the rightful heir? What if she experimented on the Lapahns, turning them into aggressive creatures with red eyes and long fangs?
