This is just my take on the issues around Domi Reversi ability:

• Why Rocks’ grandparents didn’t return to their normal state after being killed:

Domi Reversi takes your lifespan in exchange for the curse. For normal humans, it’s basically a death sentence. But for 400 years old giants, they still have some lifespan left to spare.

• Why Dorry and Broggy could regain their consciousness:

When Imu was possessing Gunko, after seeing Brook, we saw Gunko start to regain consciousness. This seemed to weaken Imu’s control. I think that moment of weakness allowed Dorry and Broggy to regain their own consciousness and choose to kill each other.

People might ask: what about the other giants?

Well, Dorry and Broggy were close to each other, and I don’t think the other Domi Reversi giants were in a position to react the same way. Or when Imu’s control weakened, only Dorry and Broggy managed to regain consciousness at that moment probably because their willpower is stronger than the other giants.
