What i can say at this point is:

- for now it looks like Sanji Hype was "fake" - "his helmet broke" - WTF? - instead of that it should be "his head fell off"

The only explanation for this could be that, the scene looks really cool - and also the fact that this can be a direct reference to "Luffy punches Saint Charlos" - then Luffy also "just hit him" - and show me someone who doesn't consider this scene one of the most iconic.

The only person who should be praised is definitely Franky - are you kidding me? -he got an upgrade and is destroying dream monsters with Jinbe?!?!?!?!?!

In a sense Sommers is a tougher match for Zoro and Killingham for Sanji.
Sanji's mobility counters Sommer's awakening.
It's an aspect that could give Zoro some trouble atleast.
In the same breath Killingham's spear + enhanced physical strength (seal+awakening) might be tougher for Sanji than it is for Zoro.

(If these match ups happen at all)

@ZenZu Oda is genuinely allergic to writing storylines for the Fillerhats.

It’s already retarded that Dorry and Brogy are overcoming Domi Reversi through sheer willpower, but Oda easily could have incorporated Usopp into that storyline to make a little more tolerable. Give Usopp a “brave warrior” moment where he faces down his two corrupted idols, and makes them “remember who they are.”

And then you have Nami needing to be saved by Lilith for some reason, because I guess her and Zeus can’t handle a single MMA…

This chapter didn't debunk or rule out Sanji vs Sommers in any way nd it'd be absolutely hilarious lol if it actually ends up happening, especially after how all the Sanji stans here and on X been relentlessly slandering Sommers thinking he's Zoro's opps
its funny because even if Sommers does not fight Sanji, he aint Zoro main opponent anyways so they doing all of this for nothing.

Stuff like Usopp in W7 wasn't about showing how strong the villains are though, it was about playing on Usopp insecurities about his own weakness
Thriller Bark M3 got captured by zombies, it's their fault for jobbing to fodders lol. And anyway Zoro and Sanji got wrecked by Oars even after being free
Most of these examples aren't comparable to a potential FV bragging about his invincible army just for it to be gone a few chapters after the flashback ended
I mean I never claimed it was comparable

Only that it isn’t a new thing for One Piece at all. It’s basically Oda’s usual formula but applied to something that it shouldn’t be

I can agree with your opinion of it being a poor decision, we’re on the same page with that. I’m just not really surprised by it given Oda’s 30 year long track record of doing it

Doggo

Talent is something you make bloom.
@Doggo is saying that you need to form your opinion after seeing raws and reading the chapter. Pew often to makes mistakes in his summaries or generalizes and we go like 2-3 days thinking its something Oda is doing direclty.

Like for example (im guessing) it is possible DR and being knocked out of it depends on the strength of the person being controlled.

For someone like Rocks, he becomes so strong that Garp and Roger needed to work together undo DR and kill Rocks (temporarily) but that leaves them all in powerless state in the end.

For Dorry and Broggy, they are clearly weaker than Rocks, and are of equal footing. We know they basically can kill each other equally, so when it happens it makes sense.

Now as to how they recover and continue fighting idk, but im going to wait for the chapter before I judge it personally
Im just telling him to chill.
Oda is giving us mere drops on how Imu's powers work every other chapter, so we gonna need the whole picture to see if there was a reason for xebec's finale, etc.
Its insane how people still cant handle OP's weekly release pacing and require a whole chapter full of text only panels filled with exposition instead of piecing shit together slowly.
I blame youtube shorts.

I will never forgive Oda

Oda’s trying to cut down on everything irrelevant—side stories, fights, etc—to focus on what matters

I guess I kinda miss when Luffy Sanji and Zoro struggling was the cause of the tension rather than their absence. Dressrosa was probably the tensest post timeskip arc because Doflamingo was just a monster, easily dispatching Sanji and Law was a great start.

Kaido could’ve surpassed this if Oda let Kaido actually kill some scabbards (seriously why did CP0 and Kanjuro get to but not Kaido) and if Oda didn’t start the war by showing Kaido being a hype tool for oden.

Even Mickey Mouse endings like Skypeia where everyone was alive in the White Sea was okay, because while Enel was a villain he was horrifying. And even after it was confirmed Luffy was immune to Enels powers, the tension was still there cause Enel was still terrifying.

Why are you joining the agenda wars fat cat

Like it could have been predicted,Sommers is out! Zoro will fight the DR Giants. And he has the license to kill! As killing DR people actually just brings them back to how they were before.

By the way this means that Xebec was "killed" by Roger and Garp, but then he was still alive, and could have continued his life..if Garling had not killed him :josad:
It's Saint Garling for the peasants
:PepeChad:

No more than any other end of the arc Luffy's fight.

Same.

I'm gonna be honest, I don't understand what the big issue is with the DR thing. This is some typical OP shit.
because now it feels like there was no real point to having them be possessed if they broke out of it so easily, this comment explains it more
Ah you meant why Oda chose to do it. Yeah no argument there lol

Its like him including 9 Vice Admirals in Egghead then doing nothing with them, or having Big Mom's crew go to Wano only for them to fall into a gag to both King and Marco

No idea why he does this.
If Dorry and Brogy were gonna just overcome DR with sheer willpower, then Usopp should have been involved with that… make his idols “remember who they are” and all that. @Monster Zoro's Tesla Supplier
let it go
