Idk why Oda is so autistic about giving the Fillerhats Haki. The only explanation I can think of is that Oda thinks it would be too unoriginal of a powerup, and he lowkey realizes that basic Haki is boring?
Haki would have been a better power system imo if only those born with CoC could use it. A universal power that anybody could unlock with some training but somehow it's not in wide spread use outside of NW is a bit hard to believe. There is no reason someone like as strong as Franky or even kuro way back in east blue couldn't use Haki.

Ragnar isn't a hidden villain
Also this is just a thing with OP in general it doesn't matter what type of character it is
We went from Lucci alone giving G2 Luffy an extreme diff fight to one Pacifista needing the entire crew's combined efforts to defeat to New World pirates in Marineford wrecking those Pacifistas easily.
hidden villian is a thing i just came up with, but the idea is of characters that exist outside of the current power structure. Regardless of affiliation

for example; In Dragon Ball Goku was already the strongest in the world so characters had to be otherworldly in other to challenge him. That's a a natural powercreep.

still cant get over how oda buffed franky

you guys were twisting your heads about haki this, training that, sea stone tech etc. and all Oda does is just give him stronger fuel

You retards need to understand that if Oda wants to make a character stronger he'll do it regardless of how lazy and stupid it is
It's funny since franky has use other stuff before he decide on cola.
But that was so damn long ago that another fuel source should make sense as a power up .
That fact he and ship power by cola already wacky or stupid if you want call that for near 2 decades lol

It's a similar thing with rokushiki. There is no reason for Zoro to not be able to do geppou or Sanji to know ryankyaku. It would cover their weaknesses, and they clearly don't lack the strength or talent to be able to do it. Oda just doesn't want to homogenize the fillerhats, which is just hilarious considering haki is the most homogenizing power system in all of manga.
Why don't people who do things do things that they don't do, idgi

My point is I don't think it's wise to deny that powercreep exists or at least isn't just restricted to hidden villain types of characters. People like you always claim it's weird to say your faves have been powercreeped but that's really just how OP as a manga is. Oda's constantly introducing newer and bigger threats, and no character is really safe from that bar a few exceptions like Mihawk (since he has to be the strongest swordsman alive until the day Zoro defeats him, so even people like Shiryu and Nusjuro can't be above him).

Advanced forms of haki should be unique to every character. Think of a bankai :kayneshrug:
Dumbass introduced observation haki for no reason at all. It has zero purpose in this series. He could have made it a unique ability which gives specific characters an advantage. When something is such a necessity, everyone has to have it, and when everyone has it, it's the same as no one having it. (What's worse is even characters who don't have it can outdo characters with it, for no apparent reason)

even the "powercreep" you claimed was shown to be not true. Warlords were easily dealing with Pacifista.

So Oda did try to stay consistent with the established order. Ragnir, Loki and the HKs are characters that exist outside of it

Some them not having haki won't really mater as power up when you look at how easy Oda can make haki users lose .
At this point it would allow them hit logias .
Still they can over power people and haki only matter in highest tiers of fights which they won't have.

I am fine with the homogenized idea of the 3 forms of haki. Shit like Future sight, barrier haki, maybe even haki blast? Base it off the characters personality. Katakuri having FS should be because he's the brains of the BMP, and he has to look ahead of time to protect his family for ex

And don't get me started in the peak lazyness that is adCoC

Is the only plot relevant usage of Observation Haki Rayleigh confirming that some random island had hundreds of animals stronger than pre TS Luffy(aka stronger than the legendary Rob Lucci who no one believed would lose)

This is so funny to read when in Punk Hazard Oda was introducing haki and he legit showed his audience that even someone with a logia df + haki will lose to another character in the same tier for having superior armament alone.

Ofcourse the fillerhats being the plot merchants they are don't need it because Oda will hold their hands whenever necessary to bail them out or have them come out ontop regardless.
