Character Discussion Do you consider Zoro to be a "Gary Stu" since the Timeskip?

Do you think Zoro has become more of a "Gary Stu" character since the Timeskip? He is a Character that hasn't seemed to struggle or straight up lose since Sabaody, and even when he is disadvantaged it is because of other reasons rather than because Zoro is struggling.

Now obviously Zoro trained under the "Strongest Swordsman in the World" for two years, but do you think he has become a "Gary Stu"?

Ehh
A few of his moments can feel like meaningless or weirdly placed fanservice. Like Nami saying that if they wanted to fight Big Mom and her crew they'd have brought Zoro and the others, or Zoro randomly one shotting Lucci after a fight that honestly didn't even make any sense and had no real place in the arc to begin with (why even have Zoro specifically fight him after seeing him hurt a woman when Sanji is the one that usually protects women from evil people like that?), or him knocking Nusjuro on his ass with Rashomon.
But I wouldn't exactly call him a Gary Stu for that. Shanks is a better example as Oda sacrificed the hype of a newly introduced Admiral just to feed him to Shanks as a glorified movie promo.
Or Oden who was seemingly portrayed as above Kaido 20 years ago even though it makes no sense for Kaido to not win fairly as that's actually far better for his character if he has a fair win against a top tier under his belt.

He is definitely a gary stu, his purpose is to aura farm against guys below him and have one interaction at best against the strong dudes (so that he doesn’t get bodied like Luffy). Great sleight of hand by Oda in order to keep his level vague and appease the fanboys.

To be clear, a character cannot become a Gary Stu. Luffy, Zoro, Shanks, Nami, Buggy, and Coby in particular are the foundation of the series: the story doesn't maneuver itself to suit them, they are the story.

I like how the only candidates for Gary Stu are Ace, Garp, Law, and... Loki

It's almost like oda put him against characters under his level. Luffy crew is built like Roger's in that the number 2 is really close to the captain. So yea zoro will struggle less against weaker opponents because he should be fighting characters on par with luffy's but there just usually isn't multiple villains in a arc like that. Zoro isn't a perfect character and he has flaws even in his fighting style.

That's because Zoro came out of timeskip stronger than post Udon Luffy.

You should be asking why the author keeps his MC a bum until that rather than suspecting that suddenly Zoro is a Gary stu

Nope a Gary Stu/Mary Sue is a character who is absolutely flawless, with zero problems if Zoro was a Gary Stu ZKK might of actually happened because he'd be so perfect Kaido wouldn't have dodged that attack that destroyed the horn of the giant skull
