My guess is the marines will have a greater presence in the Alabasta arc than in the manga. Smoker, Tashigi and Hina will get more stuff to do since they're specifically there to investigate Baroque Works. We were pretty light on the marines during season 2 since most of it was Straw Hats vs. Baroque Works.

It's not hard to imagine what a more expansive version of the Alabasta arc could look like.
Do you think we might even get an Admiral tease? Specifically Aokiji. Imo it could work if he gets namedropped a few times along with Cipher Pol since they're tying future arcs into current ones.
Maybe they could have him appear in the last episode talking about/with Robin.

Episodes 6, 7, and 8:
- Chopper looks amazing! If we were to nitpick it would be his human (buff) form - he moves and looks clunky. But it's nothing short of amazing how they made it work.
- some minor changes were made to the Hiriluk story but I mostly dislike Kureha - she's almost nothing like her og counterpart. Talking strictly about her personality and not actual looks. For some reason she ran away from the castle as Wapol was coming up. That whole mini arc was totally useless.
- hot take: I like what they did with Wapol's army, I just wish we didn't lose Chessmarimo in the process. But ig they're leaving the Rumble balls for Season 3.
- the cherry blossom shot looked amazing, glad it translated well
- Sir Crocodile looks great! The scar is a bit awkward, as is his hair, but ironically enough his laugh is just too good lmao
And the last point, one that spreads throughout the whole series but became too evident in these episodes:
They should legit stop doing fights! Period. Sword duels and swordsman focised fights (like Zoro's) barely get a pass since there is a modicum of coreography there.
Literally every single other fight looked like they are moving through molasses. Like when you're running in your dream. And that's just the movement. The actual coreography is non existant. Luffy and Sanji look like absolute nerds play fighting in the park. Luffy is saved by VFX where some easily impressed child might find some of it cool. Sanji "fights" are pure garbage, but pretty good comedy bits if you're into unintentional comedy.

Overall, the one thing everyone thpught they wouldn't come close to doing good is the sole thing they did - Devil Fruit powers by and large are done very well.

Costumes, fight coreography, dialogue and djrecting are straight up trash.
Outside of Mackenyu, the directing and fight choreography really felt weak. Honestly, my bigger concern was that they might lose the plot and stray too far from the original heart of the series. But after finishing the full season, I can say there’s still a lot of care and soul in how they handled the characters and themes, which makes it a strong live action adaptation by that standard. It definitely has some obvious flaws, like certain characters coming across as a bit cringey when trying to mimic exaggerated anime expressions, especially Luffy, but overall it was still really enjoyable, and I’m already looking forward to season 3.

A warlord going rogue would definitely justify the suggestion of sending an admiral or high level cipher pol unit to deal with it in Alabasta. Much like how Fujitora was sent to Dressrosa to investigate Doflamingo. Maybe Smoker could have a back-and-forth conflict with one of his vice-admiral superiors about how to deal with the Baroque Works situation.

Yeah Luffy was always going to be a losing battle. You'll either have the current situation where they try to bring his whole persona to the big screen which just doesn't translate well or you have an alternate scenario where they step away a bit which risks changing his character drastically as time goes on.

Apart from Luffy being portrayed as weak (whereas he breezed through every fight up until Croc) and the forced anime expressions my main pet peeve is the thick accent of Inaki. I mean "Arrabiatta"? Really?

Well, that means we're gonna see the Baroque Works Agents we didn't saw in the manga, like Mr. 6 and his partner

Haven’t finished but Inaki is going to have to work on his Luffy,it’s not bad but his character feels the least polished in the crew. interestingly enough he feels more Luffy outside of the show vs him trying to act like Luffy. Luffy’s probably the most difficult to portray in live action Format so I give him props for that. Luckily for Inaki the casting around him is top tier for the show. So the show isn’t hurt too bad From his performance.

Those baroque works agents that Smoker fought weren’t Mr. 4 and Miss Merry Christmas. That was Mr. 11 and Miss Thursday, the latter of which is only mentioned in the manga. I get the confusion since they gave Miss Thursday a baseball pitcher gimmick whereas Mr. 4 has a batter gimmick.
I think that was a way to get rid off those two.
Usopp told Brogy a lie about defeating a "mole-lady monster" with a 5t hammer, if I don't remember wrong.
The Netflix adaptation doesn't follow the manga 1:1.

I have a sus OPLA will club Albasta and Water 7 they might skip entirety of skypiea because of budget.

Season 4 will be Ennis lobby and Marineford

I dont see this series to go beyond 4 seasons. They will find it tough to cover Fishman , Pubk hazard , Whole cake , Zou , wano and Elbaf i dont see it happening .

I have to say that One Episode costs 18 million $, but the same for Akolit with 1 episode = 18 million $. But the difference between the Akolit and One Piece is insane.
One Piece is really the best LA anime adaptation.
Choppers animation might overshoot the budget.

Imagine Thriller bark they will have to animate Brook as well . I have bad feeling they might skip lot of arcs and hardcore fans will complain.

Naah, you see, you can get real numbers only in comparison with other shows. SO OpLA, even if it looks like they've got money in comparison with Akolit, the difference is insane. Akolit is bad in every term, while OPLA is good.
The only problem here so far was the fight direction. The only great fight choreography happened in 3 episode. In 4-5, 8 episode it was good. And in the second episode, it was mid. The first episode has its own good fight choreography in the battle with Smoker and awful choreography and CGI in the battle between Luffy vs Alvida and SH vs Alvida.

Also, in 2 episode camera is always still, while in every other episode the camera is moving, so you get the feeling that the scene happens on the sea.

So yeah, the first two episodes got an awful producer who used only close-up direction and always put the character into the center, so the whole episodes 1 and 2 can be cut for marketing purpose in tik-tok and YouTube Shorts.

well, you should watch to see how he looks. Btw I'm fine with Zoan forms of Daulton and Chopper. they should look like this. But I believe they can use Chopper big form with removing CGI overall to save budget.

Skypia is confirmed in OPLA.

It seems that Season 3 will be Arabasta+Jaya.

So the end of Season 3 will be PEAK with BB, Doffy intro.
Doffy actor was confirmed already.
