Now let me score each arc(not episode), so I will be done with OP LA2 this year:

1. Little Garden - 9 of 10 - better than original, on my opinion;
2. Viski Peak - 10 of 10 - reason? Mr. 9, Vivi, Zoro, Mihawk....and the defeat of all 100 assassins on screen without skipping anyone;
3. Drum Island 8,5 of 10 - I believe it needed one more episode to deliver impact as it should be. But 1 more episode means + 18 millions and I don't think that the showrunners were able to cut any episode;
4. Labun arc - 8 of 10, despite everything: Mountain scene, Battle vs Mr9 and Vivi, Rumba Pirates was enough to deliver;
5. Logue Town 7.5 of 10 - the only few things that I liked were Smoker, Zoro choosing sword, which is not good;

Overall score is: 8,6

2 episodes in and I’m loving it. The laboon episode hits even harder when you have brooks side of the story

I don’t get the people who are down on the LA. Of course it’s campy, of course it’s very “out there”. It’s fucking one piece lmao. You’re not reading berserk

I think the showrunners do a great job at choosing what to adapt 1:1 and what to change for LA purposes.

My only complaint so far is Iñaki can be a bit too expressive as luffy, but maybe that’s how Oda wants it to be

Really hated the first episode, but the rest was fine. But I do think they really messed up Sanji this season.

I am curious about how they will handle Ace in the next season. I could see them prolonging his stay with the Strawhats a bit, maybe 3 episodes.

A solid 7/10.

It's not perfect but it's a competent adaption that in some cases made writing choices I thought were an improvement to the source material even. Mr. 3 and Goldenweek are fucking terrifying in this version.

Some of the action scenes outside of the Zoro stuff were amateurish and Inaki's deliveries in key moments were quite bad, and I personally thought he did just fine in S1.

Majority of the troglodytes comparing this to DB Evolution haven't actually sat down to watch past the first episode or only seen some short clips of the more rougher scenes, and judging solely based on that.

Finished episode 8 and thus the season, everything already been said so I don't have much to add
Fight scenes are serviceable overall, for some reason Sanji's scenes are more ridiculous than devil fruit users imo, the 10 rotations kicks just look retarded in live action, not even campy, just stupid.
Zoro got the best choreographed fights, pretty ironic considering Oda can't draw swordfighting lol

I only watched the first 5 episodes, cant decide if i should also watch the rest

1 and 2 are pure dog shit, 3 was the best so far i watched and did overall somethings i consider even better to the manga but 4 and 5 were just "ok" at best

dont know maybe i was more leniant on season 1 cause it was new but this seems not a huge improvement
Chopper's backstory is very well done, as is Chopper overall. Drum suffers from a poor villain as it does in manga and anime, so there's not much improvement on that part.
I recommend you watch episode 7 to see the backstory, and maybe just watch the end of episode 8 with the cherry blossoms and Crocodile's intro

Just finished S2

I’m really enjoying how they are retro actively adding stuff to the story. Such as Barto’s role, Roger and Garp’s talk, and Sanji’s backstory. I think it would be a waste not to now that we have the power of hindsight. It’s also clever for misdirection. For example I can totally see the audience think Luffy’s is Roger’s son and not Dragon.

anyways the Laboon and Chopper arcs were perfectly adapted. Baroque works has more charm this time around. The SHs actors all play their roles well, with my complaints of Iñaki still standing. I gotta say Usopps actor was the MVP through and through, with Vivi’s being a close second.

The fights can be a bit janky, and the powerscaler in me does get annoyed at times when I see characters like Luffy and Zoro struggle with low tier characters but it’s part of the medium. You need to add tension to the battles

The show keeps going in the right direction, can’t wait to see how Alabasta is done

8/10
