Gear 5 doesn’t help at all but it wasn’t the main issue with the manga. Get rid of it and add a silly, non-god awakening and the manga still has a majority of the same issues.
The AP spoiler drops started within the Davy Back Fight, at the latest by the debut of Tonjit iirc. Before that they were randomly scattered. Ryo Hazuki had an Ippo forum and I first started OP with raws for 281
