Fate/strange Fake, written by Ryohgo Narita—known for the Baccano! and Durarara!! series—and published by Dengeki Bunko since 2015, depicts a new battle over the Holy Grail and is finally being adapted into a TV anime.
For the first time ever, witness as a Holy Grail War rages in the United States. Gape as an abundance of Masters and Servants are embroiled in a mad saga of furious struggle.
The animation will be brought to life by A-1 Pictures, who also animated Fate/Apocrypha in 2017.
Taking the directorial reins are Shun Enokido and Takahito Sakazume, who have produced animated trailers for the mobile game Fate/Grand Order and the novel version of Fate/strange Fake. With their contemporary touch, Enokido and Sakazume are sure to delight Fate fans with their dynamic and expressive animation.
This is the dawn of a brand-new conflict, and a Holy Grail War covered in lies.

Can't wait for this guy to pop off

Also.. Fooken HERCULES Alceides Hype.
He might just be the most broken Servant in the entire franchise, even though Gilgamesh technically has the title of strongest, it's mostly because of his Noble Phantasm Ea.

But, well.. You saw what happened

I've been waiting for this series since forever, when I first got into the franchise I was highly curious to see which historical and mythological figures had been made a servant. And as such I early on spoiled myself for a lot of the Strange Fake servants, and it was just a perfect concoction of a lineup that just hits all my boxes

I am a huge sucker for the mythological and larger than life kind of story telling and settings.
It's got the big time legends, literal manifestations of concepts, unique and intruiging interpretations of famed figures - and everything in between.

Honestly I'm beyond the capacity of expressing myself in the english (or any) language how much I am in awe and anticipation of this one

I mean yeah, we all know that Gilgamesh and Arthuria are the poster boys of the franchise, maybe Gilgamesh even more so since he's nearly been in every animated Fate series so far, but even still they are able to capture his oppressive power as he's pretty much no diffing Lionheart despite spamming his sword lazer(tm)

Which just makes the impact of the reveal of Ishtar yoinking the key to the Gates of Babylon rendering him effectively powerless, only to then just get absolutely fucking disintergrated by a comically overkill lazerbeam immediately after to hit so fucking hard

yes ep10 was fucking top tier could do down as a top 10 single episode in all of anime. aside from ish wonder who is most broken rn berseker, herc or darkness.... even the masters are fkn busted this season. genuinely was so excited to see a lineup of characters who are able to compete against Gil in a fate series.

only 2 more episodes though so wonder how that is all going to play out at least thats what i read.

did you have trouble understanding the full storyline at the start or just me?

Yeah it is even more convoluted than the usual Fate entry, but I think it boils down to the scope and ambiguity of this entry.

It basically takes every rule, every assumption and everything you thought you knew about the Holy Grail wars and just throws it straight out the window. You basically have the 7 classes of Servamts x2 like in Apocrypha but without the distinction of the Black and Red "factions", which on its own makes it even more complicated.

Since explained in very simple terms, this is a Holy Grail War that has large in part been unnaturally and forcefully initiated by the U,S Government's operations.
Now I don't know all the intricacies and details around how they went about it, though I assume a lot of it will come to light over the course of the series; but as the very fundamentals of which the holy grail wars is built on has been perverted, so too has the game rules allowing things that ordinarily impossible to now be very possible.

The Mercenary guy who was told by his summoned "servant" that he was to become the Lancer himself is just one of the examples of something that ordinarily wouldn't happen, and the "servant" that he actually summoned is as far as I'm aware is a unique class called the "Watcher". Honestly I use the word servant loosely as I had (and still do have) a hard time wrapping my head around what or who it is, but it's either which way one of the most blaring examples of rules defiled.

Not that rule breakers haven't appeared in other titles before, but this one is just on a whole different scale and magnitude.

Though most of all I know is that the lineup is fucking stacked, and that shit is gonna go down. I haven't spoiled myself much in terms of the plot, thankfully

And well, you know how Berserker Heracles from Fate Stay/ Night was nigh unkillable?

Well, the same is true for this Herc, but he got even bigger hax, one of which you saw demonstrated on Berserk the Ripper.
He literally just yoinked his NP, just straight up rendering it unusable and inaccessible for as long as the servant is manifested.

Just that alone makes him easily Top 3 strongest servants period.

Also, though he was summoned as the Archer class, through the series of commands the Master placed on him have potentially turned him into something else. He's more resembling the Avenger class in his current state, rather than the "basic" Archer
