General & Others Do you consider Zoro to be creative in his fights?

I think he peaked on that front with ranged attacks in Skypiea.

Creativity doesn’t really win him fights, it’s usually grit.

Luffy, Robin and Franky are the most creative Strawhats.

Nami and Usopp used to be a part of that before their abilities and tactics became more simplified.

I suppose Brook is pretty creative too. He has his music and elemental techniques, as well as psychological warfare. :suresure:

The biggest loss in creativity is Usopp. He used to be resourceful and funny. Usopp Voodoo and the fake 10 ton hammer are still one of my favourite scenes. The Dials disappearing is a real shame. He also had solid moments of collaboration that don’t happen anymore.
Yeah, he didn't learn the "geppo" technique or how to cut fire, right?

It can be argued Zoro's fighting style, like Sanji's, is simple yet elegant. It appears simple and uncreative, but on the other hand it is actually elegant and complex. To understand the creativity means to understand the complexity.

I think they're both high skill, but Zoro's style only has elegance to it when he uses 1ST or 2ST.

The sword in mouth with 3ST is a bit too goofy looking. Asura is clean as fuck though.

Zoro doesn’t have Geppō, and he doesn’t use Foxfire Style in any way that can be considered creative. :suresure:

launching slashing attacks is not being creative either. But Zoro continues to learn more techniques and he is becoming more versatile. If you want to be an idiot, I can be on your level, and no character is creative then.

This isn't Geppō, buddy. :suresure:

Zoro developed ranged attacks in the middle of a fight against a ranged opponent using equipment to blind him.

Nobody is questioning Zoro's versatility or the creativity behind his moves.

It's the fight themselves that haven't been creative for the longest.

Try being less emotional and more attentive to what you're reading.

I don't know. He seems more like a creature than all the swordsmen we've seen so far combined, and more creative than swordsmen from other anime I've watched. That should be enough, right?

Zoro is creative but Oda does a terrible job of highlighting the different utility for every move, so we're basically left with Zoro of the 100 redundant moves. At the end of the day a braindead fuck off slash with him ending up behind his enemy wins the day.
