Chopper being the one counter to DR makes no sense, wtf is Oda with these asspulls.

It was pretty obvious Chopper’s fruit was hiding something. The theory that it was the "miracle mushroom" that can cure any disease has been around ever since Oda designed the Hito Hito no Mi, since it literally looks like a mushroom.
Add to that the fact that Blackbeard was in Drum looking for something (when he usually targets Devil Fruits), the lie Usopp tells his mother about a medicine that can cure any illness, Chopper’s line on Fishman Island when Jinbe talks about Blackbeard…
There was never really any doubt this reveal would happen sooner or later, it was just a matter of when. I thought it would be a power Chopper would unlock through awakening in the fight against Doc Q
